No, I'm not saying it's better. Long term commitment to a company is a desirable thing however, and you misunderstood why I stated what I did. I don't want the older gamers to get left out in the cold and be left without any more games with "backbone" in them.

OK then you put it very badly. OK fair enough I get what your saying but is there anything wrong with new ideas bringing in new blood? What happens to the industry when all the "old" gamers are gone? I've been a gamer for a lot of damn years and I think it's fantastic all these concepts that are around now instead of a simple up your stats and hack. I also started off paper role play which is proably why I'm really excited with computer RPG's getting more depth into them and more choices for story line. They are bringing the new ideas in ALONG with the old concepts for pc games that is a win for everyone. As for Zev he only makes a few cheap shot comments which are over in a few seconds and the game goes on with out his flirty stuff.
The only thing I can think of to make everyone happy is to be able to fine tune the game in set up to add the romance or leave it everytime you start a character.

I think that we all should be able to voice our opinions with other people who enjoy this game without having to worry about being insulted. We are all in this forum, and we all play Dragon Age. If someone doesn't get any at home and uses this game to get their jollies, thats their problem and none of my business. I won't insult them for it.

And I agree we're all nerds here. lol

Please remember though that some of us were nerds before it was popular and don't want to be replaced by the newer nerd models.

I was such a nerd. Been one for a long time. And I'm a woman, so I catch more grief for it.

Yes and I will try it eventually, It just doesn't fit into the story line as well as Alistair. And no means no. He doesn't get the hint too well, oh well I guess thats reality too isn't it.

I use to travel to the next town to sit down with my D&D books n' RP'er friends to RP for the weekend...but infact the best character I had was from a marvel RPG called whippersnipperBObasher as she had mad pheromone and slice skills!!! *slunks back off under a rock*

Oh my gravy, YES. I remember a time where watching the Power Rangers was cool at age 14. Hell, I can even remember the very first episode of that show. Now we're freakin' marketable. Everyone is a nerd because they can play the first 2 levels of Halo 3 on casual. They are nerds for watching Inu-Yasha. They act like a stereotypical japanese online, with their 2 fingered "peace" sign. Look, I can say bRb & lol offline, replacing regular speak! I'm in the 'in-crowd'! Gawd, now I'm pissed.

Oh, now I'm off topic. All in all, a satisfying FAQ, IMO.

I know exactly what you mean. I'm not too into the whole abbreviate thing, I'll use lol if I must. But yes it is very satisfying. Power rangers is awsome! And I also vaquely remember the first episode....
I suppose this is a bit off topic.

Back on topic, though. Let me summarize my feelings on Awakening. I was very excited when I heard this was coming out. I ran to Gamestop and reserved it and paid for it in full because I love Dragon Age. But it seems like they are taking something from the original game. Maybe I am wrong, but the impression I'm getting is that the story for your imported character would not go over well. If you became Queen or King, etc. That would take a lot of fun out of the original game. And they aren't supporting their own official content? I just bought Return to Ostagar a few days ago, for what? These items may not be super great, but many of them hold sentimental value. The dead warden thing, and no romances to boot. That part is just icing on this bad cake for me. I certainly hope I am wrong. This is my opinion.

See, that's my current beef with them, other than wanting to know what they did with my dog.

What did I do with Duncan's Sword? Did I drop it somewhere? That just seems so UNLIKE me.....

And before someone says "Duncan's sword wasn't very powerful you'll be getting a super dragonbonestarmetal combo sword with lasers and a built in jetpack that can summon a high dragon in the expansion" let me say that it has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH HOW GOOD THE SWORD IS.

It's Sentimental. SENTIMENTAL!! I want to keep it because it's S-E-N-T-I-M-E-N-T-A-L.

See! Yes we dropped Duncan's sword and dagger, Cailen's armor, and Maric's sword. Oh how absent minded we are. Maybe the dog ran away with them.

Yeah I really want my items to carry over. OK as stated they might not be as powerful for the job but it's something to start with. And I love starfang...damn it I want STARFANG!

And Dog would of been lovely to have. I'm a dog person...Bioware you are going to be on ASPCA's most wanted list!

I have only managed to get starfang once, speaking of that. WTH am I doing wrong? Yes it was a cool sword however. This is their official stuff! Unbelievable.

LOL. This is an awesome comment.

I had no problem with him being bisexual. It's just that when I told him I didn't mind he immediately though "oh boy! I'm gonna go all th way with this guy! I better hound him about it constantly just in case he's on the verge of being curious!"

No means no, Zevran. Funny how I now understand what a lot of you girls must have to put up with thanks to him.

After completing the Warden Keep quest and getting Shale from Honnleath, travel back and forth from Honnleath to Flemeth's Hut until you trigger it. This works every time for me.

Thanks I will keep that in mind. I wanted it in my main hand on my current dual weilding warrior file, but never got it. I was pissed. Thanks to all of you in this forum, I was feeling like a 2 year old having a temper tantrum for not getting my way with Awakening, but I'm calm now. Goodness look at my burning up the forums. What a nerd I am.

Ah ok. I just kept traveling to each point until it happened but your method has less madness Ahisgewaya.

And yeah cmessaz I would get sooo annoyed with it turning up LATE in the game that I would just constantly travel until it came up.

I'm still not sure what this is so I'll just toss the questions in here instead of making a new topic.

This is a whole new thing you import your DA:O character to? It doesn't work backwards?

I've barely started DA:O (even though I bought the CE and all the DLC so far I'm only up to Lothering) so if I bought this I couldn't take the characters/items in this back into DA:O?

The correct thing to do is finish DA:O then play this?

CmonCmon, as far as we know the new talents and items do not go in reverse. You don't have to finish DA:O as you can start as a new warden. But if you wanted to take your DAO: character to the expansion then I think you have to finish the main story...not to sure as I've not seen anything asked about that yet but you bring up a interesting point.

It is official that you cannot import from awakening to origins. Play through Origins.

And the level I finish at depends on how I played. Generally 16-20.

y bring oghren back people can just replay their origins game and do his story earlier instead of bringin a boring character back
