y bring oghren back people can just replay their origins game and do his story earlier instead of bringin a boring character back
I agree with you. I NEVER used him. He was so boring.

Well with lvl scaling it wont matter too much.
Since our import character will have a good reputation around Amarenthine, I want a full discount from merchants ! Hell I fought with a blight, slayed an Archdemon, retook Warden's keep, returned to Ostagar and took care of Cailan's body and armor and still they made me pay for items !
I never liked Herren anyways. Wade wasting his talent with that greedy bastard. I want an option to shut Herren up in Awakening since he will be there to annoy us with his 'time is money'' motto. Or at least Intimidate/persuade option.
Besides this Its a good Q/A. Finally we got some answers. I know hoping too much from an expansion can be dissapointing. Although I am sad to learn ''no romance in Awakening'' I kinda relieved since I wont be tempted to ''cheat'' my old romance and if the companions in the expansion will vanish after the campaing then good thing that I wont get involved romantically. One devastation with Origin romance is enough for even a mighty Warden.
Besides I doubt if our character live on to DA 2 or sort since the taint will kill us at young age and if there is no cure for it ( Maybe Architecht knows something !! *Gasp* ) we are doomed. But there is our triumph card ... Morrigan ! She will show up from somewhere and will do something big and we will have to deal with it ! At least I am hoping for it so we can caryy our warden further.
Without seen Awakening I cant say more. I will let my game experience talk after I play it.

Besides that I dont have much problem. Just dont make companions forgot you after sometime and when you meet them again '' Oh hi did we met ? '' and another 100 point of approval race.
I bet Awakening companions will be well loved like Origin ones. Better prepeare a good ending for them or more topics will invade the forums

Hope and reviews are all we can do right now. I dont want my companions just disappear without a word. I would like to see their fate even if that is seen their corpses ( which if I saw Leliana's I swear I may tear up )

I just think that as an expansion, this isn't what I was expecting. I look forward to new characters, but ALL new characters? Some closure at least to the previous romances and companions is very necessary for me. And Oghren being the only one returning? Sad. My pooch.
I don't know about the Morrigan friendship thing. She said some things that really surprised me in my last file as a human female when I got her to 100. (It is possible! Just don't take her anywhere with you if you are going to do the moral thing.) She'll be back in DA2. How I'm not sure. But she will be back.

Some companions like Sten have strict fate I think but others can be seen at sequels. And that keep my hopes high.
And Oghren is not that bad. I regret why did I got him last. Maybe because of Deeproads ! oh well he will get much part this time.
And aobut Morrigan, I too have 100 approval with her without even trying. Dont know how that happened but it did.
At my first playthrough I said I will looking for her and I wont give up yet.

I haven't beaten it yet with my Dalish Ranger though. I tend to take a really long time with games. I read all the codex entries, check back on the mage tower at various points to see if it's been cleaned up (it hasn't) and try to carry on conversations with each party member. So I am the definition of easily sidetracked. lol
I actually like Oghren. He wasn't my favorite mind you, but he had his moments (such as when you ask him how he's doing and he complains that everyone in camp whines all the time). However the fart jokes got real old real fast.
Not having the dog return though.....that's just kind of weird. At first I didn't even say anything about the dog since I just assumed he would return for some reason. I guess I had started thinking of him as a peice of equipment. lol

I finally did it. I screwed up my rogue file 26 hours in by installing a mod that mucked with rogue powers. Now I get to start over, no matter how many times I reload it is still screwing up. Knew this would happen eventually but I'm still pissed.

Comic relief Ogrhen is great. Not trusting anything that can make a larger turd than you are is great advice for anyone. But as far as being usefull? Not so much. How do you guys add the cute little comments below your posts????

I have a better trump card. His name is Avernus. That guy IS a grey warden, did the ritual and everything, and is alive far past what his natural lifespan was BEFORE becoming a grey warden.
So yeah, I definately drank his weird blood potion. I told him no more experiments on grey wardens, but that doesn't mean he can't continue research, just no field testing (especially no torturing people).
And that's my non mage characters. My Arcane Warrior will bodily enter the fade and become a spirit long before dying. That's one thing I love about Origins so far. If you're smart enough, you can do the impossible (like saving that little girl from the demon in Honleathe).

Oghren is a great companion ability wise. People tend to get him late in the game and because of such he's normally auto-leveled to the point of uselessness... but if you get him early-mid game he's better the Sten in all reguards.cmessaz wrote...

Possibly but I just don't use the 2 handed fighters in my party. Not the way I play anyway. I'm just saying that I would rather use Sten. Really depends on what I am, etc. I would just have liked the returning character to be someone else. Anyone else, really. There isn't much connection with Oghren. I went to get him first on my last (now messed up) play through, and other than his comedy being hilarious, still not so usefull to me. It probably depends on how you play. It's just like they get you all hyped up about the returning character being secret and then....Oghren? Not very exciting to me. Just my opinion though.
They never really hyped it up... Oghren was in the first trailer and every following trailer except the children. They just never officially announced it.

See! Yes we dropped Duncan's sword and dagger, Cailen's armor, and Maric's sword. Oh how absent minded we are. Maybe the dog ran away with them.
Ha!
I predict the expansion DLC 'Return of Dog' in which your pooch shows up in camp:
"Hello Boy!"
"Woof"
"Do you see anything interesting"
"Woof"
<dog has found all of your Origins DLC>
