Honestly, IMO, because it was a "generic" model they could just slap on any of the LIs showing up in the beginning and was "easier" to do.  Even Liara's version isnt much of a varience from Ash's and Kaiden's.  Case in point, they were lazy and just didnt feel like re-skinning for Kaiden's armor at that point for some reason.

Doesn't matter that Liara's armor ain't so different.  It's still a completely different armor model as far as the game engine is concerned and still had to be designed separately.  Hell, Shep's isn't that different either. In fact, Shep's is more similar to Ash's/Kaidan's than Liara's is to anyone else's; it's mostly just darker.  Also, and again:  they went to the effort to give Kaidan his normal Onyx armor on Horizon, and they still went to the bother of giving them all unique helmets in the intro.  The 'generic labor-saver' notion just doesn't hold up.  I can only come up with two other possibilities:

a.  They gave him that armor because it stands out more in those scenes by being virtue of being mostly white.  Of course, they had Shep in dark grey armor during all that, and you don't see anyone else in armor during the evac at all so....

b.  So Shep looked unique and to contrast with him/her.  Kaidan's Horizon armor is basically the same grey as Shep's N7 suit in the intro, so the differences wouldn't stand out too much there.

That last one actually makes a decent amount of sense, but it could still just be a case of my earlier idea: a goof by whoever coded that bit of the game that somehow managed to escape notice and/or fail to have anyone care about it if it was noticed.

No.  It's really not.  That's just the lighting.  It's Phoenix armor, and that stuff is pink.  Liara's Hoplite armor, however, actually is red and white.

BUT PLEASE!  Will someone tell me the real reason, or at least a humerous fictional one, why Kaidan is wearing pink armor at the  beginning of ME2?

Because it makes him look FABULOUS!

I just want to know why... the System Alliance makes pink amour. I mean they are human and know what humans think of pink usually. Doesn't seem like a design choice a human armour manifacturer for the military would do (if you remember ME1 that armour is made by a human military supplier, if it was a Turian firm to mess with us out of spite, or a Asari firm being... Asari.. I would understand... but a human firm!!).

It's a result of the skirmishes with the batarians. Their vision can pick up ultra-violet, but they have difficulty seeing white and pink ranges in the colour spectrum.

Haha...one could ask the same question as to why Shep can walk around in HOT 80'stastic pink.

Please tell me that isn't the canon explation written on a codex somewhere. <_< Pink marines are going to wish they are against Batarians so no one sees them walking around wearing the colour they wear.

I thought it was white... meh. Maybe he likes the colour? Maybe it's comfy? Maybe it has good stats? Maybe it was easier for the devs that way?

God, I really hated that Phoenix armor in the first game. Not only does it drop from the most ridiculous places (medical stations?!?), but its pink, and we all know that pink is the suckiest of colors. To add insult to, well, insult, the stats on it were among the worst in the game! Only a few, like the Onyx, were actually worse. And it was everywhere, I would easily get four or five suits in ONE little side mission.

To be honest, I almost never play a femShep, so I never get/got to see Kaiden in his hot pink Phoenix armor. Just another reason to not play femShep.

You can play femShep, but you can 1) Romance Liara in ME1, 2) Kill Kaiden on Vimire in ME1. Two will make sure you never see him on a FemShep. If you haven't played ME1, then.... ummm.... not sure what to say. Avoid playing FemShep? (or get a save file online where Kaiden is dead.)

I played ME1 to death, but only one time was I able to get through it with a femShep.  And I did romance Kaiden, so I could import that save if I wanted to.  The point is I don't want to.  This would hardly be a deciding factor for playing femShep anyway.  It just feels like there is something. . . off, when playing a femShep.  Shepard is male, simple as that.

I played a Male Shep and saved Kaidan... I never noticed the fact that he was wearing pink.
Uh... I guess it's fine as long as he doesn't come up with some funny thoughts... or I'll have to take a Renegade dialogue line telling him that the Galaxy was better off with another xenophobe basher and that's why I chose him.
