Keeping fngers crossed it'll fix my constant crashes since I encountered the IFF.

Will be released on Monday February 22nd at 1 pm MST on the BW social site for retail and Digital Download SKUs.
Should be released on Monday for Steam.

Will include the following fixes:

Changes to 1.01
---------------
- Fixed video hitching and crashes related to single core machines.
          - Single core users may experience short periods of black screen that may last up a few seconds between level loads, cinematic transitions or movies.
          - In rare cases, some single core users may notice dialog lines in certain conversations may be delayed up to a few seconds.
- Fixed an issue where it appears ammunition can be picked up, but can't.
- Fixed an issue where all Codex entries were marked as 'viewed', even if the player chose not to view them.
- Fixed an issue where weapon icons are re-organized after downloadable content is used.
- Fixed an issue where pressing F9 after the mission completion screen reset Shepard to Level 1.
- Fixed an issue where remapping the right mouse button blocks camera control in the command HUD.
- Fixed an issue where remapping the 'use' command affects the decryption minigame.
- Fixed an issue where users were not prompted to restart when logging in to a different EA Online account.
- Fixed an issue where movies do not play in DLC.
- It is recommended that players reset their keyboard mapping to default values to ensure proper vehicle control.
- Added useful messaging during the ME1 save game import.
- Weapon icon for henchmen never changes from Collector Assault Rifle.
- Czech language – Issues with Czech localization (subtitles) were amended, all text was corrected and improved.
- Fixed an issue where the Mass Effect 2 launcher was being associated with files that have no extension.
- Fixed an issue where uninstalling the game under Windows Vista or Windows 7 might uninstall Mass Effect 1.
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Again, I have to explicitly call out that single core machines are below min-spec, and while we feel the patch addresses the majority of the single-core issues, we cannot guarantee that all users on single core machines will have an optimal experience. We put this fix in because we wanted to help as many users as possible run the game.
Project Manager, ME2

I'm sad there are no fix for the clipping issue and the heartbeat during loading time. But hey, it's still a nice and welcomed patch.

At least it's better than nothing.

Let's keep that buglist thread going.

What's wrong with the heartbeat during the loading menu?

Two observations:

1) No mention of the random loading bug in Unreal Engine that causes loading times to be 10x longer than it should be.

2) Is there going to be another patch after this? Some issues could certainly be looked at after these are addressed. I hope more DLC in the future means that patches won't be overlooked either, because ME1 had laughable support and visibly obvious problems.

With the amount of DLC planned, I would certainly expect another patch at least.
It might not hit until the Hammerhead DLC does or maybe a bit after, but I'm going to say there's an 80% chance we'll have another.

2) Why shouldn't there be another patch? Do you know how many Patches NWN1&2 had? I count 23 patches for NWN1.

Mass Effect 1 wasn't patched very well, but Bioware outsourced the PC Port to Demiurge Studios. This time they made the port themselves. And the game runs a lot smoother than it's predecessor and looks a lot better to boot.

Which they would release a tool to fix the installer not installing the game correctly from the DVDs. Would hate to have to reinstall this game in the future and froget How I got around the installer issues...

I for one am just glade that they are giving the single core users some type of support they could have just easily said that it was under spec and that the feel they don't have to support it at all. The only problem I ever had was the loading screen freeze and hopefully this will fix it.

Changelog says yes. Good thing i still have the original movies as a backup. Removing the Sargass fix isn't that hard either.

I hope there's a patch for the CPU affinity issue. Thats the main problem I've been having.
Hopefully my edited .ini doesn't interfere with the update. Does the Steam version get auto-updated?

I noticed the grunt loyalty bug isn't on the list =(
Also, when people talk, their voices cut out halfway through what their saying sometimes.

Might indicate that Hammerhead is coming soon :D

I'm just glad I'll be able to plan the damn game finally come Monday. My ME2:CE box has been gathering dust for three weeks.

Is there any chance that a new DLC pack will come out on the 22nd along with the patch? ME2 is an Awesome game; however it’s not nearly long enough for the price. You really only have one mission after You collect all of Your Team members. I hope that ME3 will be long enough to justify purchasing it when it hits the stores in 2011/2012.

Thanks Bioware,

Glad to see that Bioware is finally sending out a patch. Great game. Hope this helps all those folks out there who are currently unable to play. Other than a few floating glitches I've enjoyed playing ME2. Cant wait for DLC

Yeah, but it only happens every once in a blue moon and I think it's kinda cool! :)

dont see anything about fixing the DRM issue on DLC not saving its registration, so being continously connected to the net will no longer be required

No widescreen fix nor Field of view correction. Its very hard to do Bioware? Patch useless due its fix mostly minor issues.

What about fixes for levitating on boxes and not being able to get off or getting stuck in walls? What about freezing fixes? What about fixes for when a husk punches you and Shep gets stuck facing to the left so that the aiming cursor does not match up with his gun? Most of the "fixes" in the patch aren't even common problems.

To provide some history to those recently pointing out the lack of more significant fixes, if ME1 and maybe even Dragon Age patching is to be any historical precedent, Bioware releases one initial, technically oriented patch, almost a mission-critical one in a sense. Later, a more significant one emerges featuring more fixes and maybe gameplay fixes. Beyond that, it's dark space.

I would like to add two more requests beyond some (not necessarily all) issues stated by others:

1) Please allow us to skip the intro, I bought the game and I know who develops and publishes it by now.

2) Please let us skip the cutscene when leaving Illium. I suspect it is intended for us to skip this, but it is currently not skippable.

I am a little bit disappointed that some of the major graphics bugs are not solved, for example the trailing appearance during Garrus' loyalty mission and that strange clipping/flickering bug when visiting Cpt Anderson in the presidium.

Hopefully they release a series of little patches as they go along fixing bugs, so that we don't wait endlessly for a big patch that fixes everything,
