Anybody else approaching their decisions in ME1 and ME2 with the assumption that you're actually recruiting different races, governments, etc for the final confrontation against the Reapers? Saving the Rachni, healing the Krogans, stopping the Quarians and Geth from going to war, making sure the Citidel is as politically stable as possible. All seem like they'll have huge ramifications on ME3 and the success of your battle against the Reapers. It makes you think beyond simply Renegade vs Paragon.
While seeing the effects of your decisions from ME1 to 2 is nice, the changes in gameplay and dialogue is pretty minimal (or maybe I just had higher expectations). Here's hoping ME3 really pulls it all together and takes all three games into consideration when determining your success against the Reapers.

God i hope not. Dragon Age already did that.....

Yeah, I'd definitely prefer taking the fight to the reapers rather than taking the fight to my possible allies favors so that they will grudgingly help me save their own asses. Damn, self-preservation is not a widely embraced concept in Dragon Age... Maybe ME3'll get them to realize that helping Shepard is keeping their butts from going from the frying pan and into the black hole.

I'm not saying the third game's objective should be Shepard out building an army like DA:O. I hope it isn't either.
What I am saying is that your decisions throughout all three games (specifically the ones I listed above) should factor in to your overall success. If the Krogans are healed from the genophage, if the Rachni are alive and strong, if the Quarians and Geth are reunited... it should all effect the ending.

Ahh, course, would make sense.

We'll probably get a minute long cut scene at the end that briefly shows Krogan, rachni, and whatever else you saved in the previous iterations. I wouldn't be surprised if the Krogan gave the same 10 second speech as would the geth either.
