New Werewolf?

When I browsed the new pages reguard Awakening on the website, I saw a head with images of a skull faced werewolf that appeared tainted in the way Blight Wolves appeared.
If this creature is a playable ally, I might actually actually be more excited than I thought I could be for these sort of games.
I think we should have a REALLY evil character that we can coerce to be a companion. This would be a great option-with unique traits like Dog and Shale.
Does anyone know more of this new werewolf? You can crush my hopes if you want to if the truth doesn't favor me. I would just really like to know one way or another.

Call me skeptical, but having something as drastic as a werewolf for a companion would sort of be front-page material, no? Bioware could very well be saving such a thing for last, but in truth, how many curses pertain to such a thing anyway? In my understanding the way those people were transformed was exceptionally complex in comparison to something like demon possession. I doubt there are more werewolves than what was seen in the Brecillian Forest.
I'd take a guess that we'd have more of a chance at having some possessed corpse like Sophia Dryden as an ally before we get anything like a werewolf. Both equally intriguing, and highly unlikely.

Kotor- Assassin robot, good ole' HK
Jade Empire- Giant Demon
NwN- Dekin (or however you spell it)
ME2- Geth
Dragon Age- Shale
So I'm thinkin we'll see one companion that isn't a dwarf/elf/human.

The potential for a compelling werewolf companion is huge. I wonder how they control their darker nature - does the Lady of the Forest teach them yoga or something?

NWN2 had the Construct also and its Expansion had the giant ass awesome looking Bear. (I realize that game is made by Obsidian but, correct me if I am wrong, I believe Bioware did oversee the project and its story line.)
To the OP: A Werewolf companion would be great IMO but I don't think it is happening. First off they would need to make armor models for the game that would fit the werewolf models which is probably a lot of work even for the staggeringly slim amount of models we have in the game. Second off it would probably not go over well in the story situation, the Religious nuts would probably have a fit, and the Dalish would also probably not appreciate it, and unless he / she is able to control his form (Being able to shape shift from his original human / elf / dwarf form to to Werewolf like you can in D&D) it would probably lead to a lot of problems.

If weres are possible outside the Brecillian episode, I'm all for them. Having something like that in your group would really stir some heads. The reactions towards having a golem tag along with you in Origins weren't exactly what I expected. Hell, people had more of a negative reactions towards the warden being an elf than the PC having a giant talking boulder as a friend.
Well, they couldn't have made Shale too interactive with the game as a whole for people who didn't happen to get her.
We also know that pointy ears represent hate and evil... things.

Wow, thanks for that man, now I don't have to go through the trouble of finishing the game to see that one for myself.

I also would like to know more about these new werewolfs. I also think it would be great to have a werewolf party member in awakening or future DA games, DLC, or Expansions. I wonder if there are any DA Vampire roaming the world?

The new werewolves are very cool and different from what you'd expect after the first game. If you're a werewolf fan, you'll like them.
Different how?

I am sure that they could have a werewolf that doesn't need armor. They could use paint like dog or have traits that that scale with his level. They didn't need armor in DAO. Why would the need it as a companion character?

Their niche in the spiritual ecological system of Thedas is not the same as their southern neighbors.
