Hi folks..I don't know where else to turn regarding this problem...so here I am..I know Nexus was having some issues regarding validating new folks, e mails and such, but that was weeks ago.  And, the site indicates the issues are all resolved..

Well, I registered last week.   No luck logging in.  Unlikely in such a short space of time,  but just in case I had made a password error, sent for the "forgot my password"..no reply.  Waited 24 hrs, tried again, no luck.  Error..e mail, user name not found, in use, or invalid....and let's not forget, incorrect password..... Tried the "password recovery" again, no reply.

Waited 24 hrs, registered again using an alternate e mail address, different user name/password.  NOTICE, "opps, that user name or email is already in use"...Of course, no confirmation e mail ever received...

Waited 24 hrs, tried again using both accounts.  Error messages on both, regarding e mail address not valid or in use.  Same with user name.  Password, incorrect.

I've emailed several times for a password recovery.  I've emailed "contact" several times, outlining the issue, asking for advice,  but no response to anything.  Just the notice after I click "send" that it was sent and I should hear back shortly...oh my...

I want to get involved with the modding community, and I can't get anywhere since I can't seem to get any help...I can't start...clean...since I only have two e mail addresses, used them both and still can't get anywhere ... no matter what I try..

Please, if any of you know what's going on, or can help in any way, I'd really appreciate it...   ThanksPosted Image

Not sure why you're having trouble registering, but if you just want to download you don't need to register.

And you might just go ahead and email Dark0ne directly from the Staff link. He's a good guy and pretty responsive.

Just a thought, have you tried adjusting your firewall settings, and did you check your spam/junk email folder for the registration email?

I can only download the very small files...I did e mail someone on staff, but got no response. I don't think it was Dark One...I'll try that..all the other's I tried, I got the notice that I must be registered to to that...and of course I can't .. thanks

It wasn't Dark One.. I had e mailed.. Buddah ..no response.  I just e mailed Dark One per your suggestion...cross your fingers...if he doesn't answer, I'm gonna miss out on a bunch of the modding fun since none of the larger files can be downloaded unless I'm registered.

I did check the Spam folder..nothing.  I didn't look at the Firewall settings.  Never thought about it since I never had this issue before.  The other day, I registered at PlanetElderScrolls...for Morrowind Mods..also at Strategy Informer with no issues.  Was able to download and install the smaller files from Nexus..if it was the firewall..could I do that..thanks

I am running...Vista...boooo....could that be it..

Which files are you attempting to download, Taarnah123? If I can manage to download them I may be able to send them to you.

Been gaming for more years than I care to think about...I must say, this is one of the best bunch of folks I've ever come across....If there's any way to help..you all do...no sarcasim, no putdowns...just really nice folks trying to help...I really appreciate that..

Hey, Pseron Wyrd..love the handle...great play on letters....Re helping me download a file.... thank you a bunch....but I can't bother you for help when all the larger files start to appear.. now that those great modders have had time to work on them.

I don't remember which one it was .. it was over 2 mb I think and that's when I was told I need to be registered to download any file over a certain size...catch 22...figures...can't download unless I register...can't register so I can't download...*$&#($)(*&#.....

In my experience, Nexus has always been a bit if-y, they seem to have a lot of server issues and such, at least last time I visited. You may want to try again in a little while.

Hi Velveteen Rabbit..this has been going on, over the course of 6 days..that's why I finally posted here...after 6 days, I figured something should have worked or that I should have heard from them...but, not yet..I hoped someone from Nexus might see this here, and offer advice...since nothing else works, it was my last hope...other than "Dark One"..

This could be a cookie related problem for your first login.

There has been some issues on and off with the site recently, so one assumes they are up to their necks in digital goo. Working on servers can cause cache problems with an old cookie from an older server config on both ends and so simply log you out when you login. Eventually, the cookie will expire and it might work then.

Things you could try apart from emailing them is to clear all your cookies out or try a different browser. Not sure what you are using, but I always have at least Firefox and Google Chrome installed as well as the demonic Internet Explorer.

Internet Explorer is very tied into the operating system, so I would suggest that you vape the cookies using the Internet Options in Control Panel. Then reboot the machine. IE does not always behave itself.

IE is spawn of darkspawn - try another browser as well.

I deleted them via IE..tools..and so forth. There were a bunch from Nexus. Tried to register again, no luck..again. Says user name or e mail is already in use. Will reboot and try again....let ya know.

I looked in the Vista control panel and didn't see any Internet Options there..hmmmm?

Nope..just tried again, no luck. "opps'' the e mail or user name is already selected and in use"..thought we might be on to something with the cookies..

Anybody know of another mod community to use...Nexus is the one, but if I can't use it for anything but the smaller files...bummer...aka..fubar

After clearing cookies - have you tried to just login with your original account details or use retrieve password rather than trying to create another account?

ModerateOsprey...Did as you last suggested. Got a password error. Sent for retrieve...I finally got an answer.. One problem...it's in GERMAN...AAGGGGHHHHHHHH????

I don't see my password in the message. It says..."Oeskan had soeben einen Kommentar su deiner Newsfeed-Aktion erstellt." Signed..Soziales Netzwerk Administration

I remembered a weeee bit of the German I used to know, and on second glance, this doesn't look like a password recovery...uh...

Oh dear :/

Does the e,mail have a link to take you to a password reset page, yes in German, but a link is a link?

No...just what I typed above...I tried to click on some of the words, even though they're not highlighted..nothing...The Subject line doesn't look right either...It's...."Neuer Kommentar su deiner Aktion von Oeskan"...

Translate anyone....You're good Osprey, but whoever "they" are...they're staying one step ahead...We may go down in flames, but it won't be for not tryin.....

Taarnah, have you tried logging into the forums? I think this paragraph from the Feedback section is still valid "If you can login to the forums but not the site then you should check to see if there is an apostrophe, backslash or other "abnormal" character in your username AND/OR password. Abnormal characters include "; ' @ ~ / \\\\ | ! `". If you have one of these characters in your username then please request your account be deleted so you can make a new one without these characters in. However if your password contains one of these characters then you can easily change your password by going to your "My Controls" page on the forums."

My experience has been the opposite. There are occasional server issues but no different than any other large site. Dark0ne is hosting for multiple games, and he's very responsive to concerns. And I've been using his site(s) for something like 6 years now.
