No, we will find out the secret method of defeating the Reapers is with water guns then let then rust for a while.

Either that or build a giant magnet where the collector base was and pull them all in.

Untrue, Harbinger loves his collection of miniature Star Wars figurines.

I thought the reapers wanted to exterminate organics presicely because they stumbled upon a Jar Jar Binks figure, which made them discover the emotion of "hatred".

I'm going to be 'that guy' and post a serious response to what is apparently a joke thread.

The quarrians will figure out exactly what is causing Haestrom's sun to destabilize. Shepherd will then use this data to take out the entire reaper fleet by causing a star to go supernova. (face it, that's the kind of firepower you'd need to take them out in a direct confrontation)

This is what I've been speculating too. Even the combined forces of all the races in the Galaxy would be far too frail to face more than a few Reapers in open combat. Not without severly wussifying the Reapers.

I'm thinking that the sacrifice element comes into play as well. The bait needs to be developed colonies, or even home worlds of intelligent races. Lure the Reaper fleet into attacking them, then blow up the star while they're busy blasting cities from the orbit.

For maximum impact, they might make Earth one of the potential sacrificial worlds.

They could succeed in "wussifying" (great word BTW) the Reapers by having them severely depleted by their return trip to the galaxy - their energy reserves are at critical levels and their eezo cores are pushing their charge limits.  That would cripple their maneuverability,  prevent them from escaping into FTL and limit their firepower.

There's still the small matter of discovering where to hit them before they can discharge and refuel, and gathering a large enough fleet to take them on...

I was just wondering, if every new reaper is based off their conquered or current enemies then what is Sovereign based off? Giant space squid?

But I beleive that the space hamster in Shepard's quarters knows how to beat the Reapers and he shall play a bigger role in ME3

To defeat the Reapers, we shall...broadcast Reality Television to them.

And we shall not stop! No matter how much they beg or plead.

That is how merciless we shall be. Yes.

I firmly believe that if Bioware is smart, tactically and strategically, the geth fleet will be the main offensive force against the reapers. Consider that the Reapers have weapons that can tear a human vessel in half and kinetic barriers that allow them to literally plow through turian ships without incurring damage. You would need either a multi-generational leap in technology or a method of avoiding the reaper's weapons as well as taking down it's kinetic barriers. In my mind, the neural network-linked geth could coordinate fleet wide precision ftl jumps, negating the reaper weapons advantage by never giving them a firing solution. In order to take down the shields of the reaper you would need a boarding party that isn't vulnerable to indoctrination, ie the geth because of their inability to be hacked for any length of time, to destroy the mass effect core of each individual reaper. Every time a geth ship came out of FTL they'd fire at a reaper allowing the boarding party to get in range. The quarian, krogan, and rachni forces would be in charge of evacuation and ground assaults with the quarian flotilla in charge of evacuating turian, human, asari, roloi (the new race), and any other race with a similar form factor and the Rachni in charge of evacuating the elcor and volus, because of the need for larger halls. The krogans don't have ships and would be in charge of fighting any species the Reapers managed to ally themselves with, alongside the rachni ground forces and human, turian, asari, and salarian militaries.

Presumably, the final battle will take place around the Citadel or Earth, with the fleet of every nation, every world, every species coming together to fight the Reapers. The battle will be massive, with the Reapers being weakened by Dark Energy, so as to give organics a chance. I haven't yet figured out what Shepard would do, so pretend he's sitting on the Normandy twiddling his thumbs. Actually, scratch that. Make him board Harbinger, and turn it against its brethren. I don't know how immersive that ending would be, but that's probably how we're going to win.

Shepard and co will be the only people who can stop their next devious plot. They'll need the Normandy's stealth systems to infiltrate something in the terminus system so they can drop in and do a daring commando raid that climaxes in a silly boss fight. Then there is an ambiguous moral choice with far reaching consequences that we never get to see.

Actually since the reapers blot out the galaxy in their unfathomable numbers, this presumption is about as likely as my bat**** crazy aunt's that her neighbors are actuall aliens doing experiements on her at night.

After the final climactic bossfight with the reapers, Shepard wakes up, completely parylized from the neck down in a hospital. The doctors inform him that he's been in a coma for over a decade, and that he has been this way since Mindor.

He dreamed everything up? That would go down in my book as one of the worst ways the devs could ruin ME3.

Yes, it's also the overly cliched ending to many a crappy highschool english literature short story.

Can't we just launch a crapload of nukes at them? Or have ships carry nukes? In Halo most warships have nukes on them.

Harbinger: "Oooooo! Baseballs!"

Other Reaper named Azura: "No, Harbinger, its a trick!"

Harbinger: "But Azura...*turns head* Tricks are for kidssss..."

Azura: "...You know what, forget it. Catch them. Catch them with your teeth."

That is actually a good possibility that they lure the reapers into a cluster like where haestrom is and they trick them. Either that or Shepard takes down all of the reapers with an EMP sending them into a black hole

I lol'ed

Anyway back to seriosness. I think Shepard and the Normandy are going to be standing alone against the reapers, with shepard all depressed that none of them will go to full-scale war and help. Then at the last second....

Joker: We're picking something up on our scanners Shepard!

Shepard: What is it?

(Quarian, Geth, Rachni, Turian, Human, and all the other fleets and full strength come ripping through space at FTL speeds and gather around the normandy with epic music playing)

That will give me wet dreams....

Then there will be like a Shaw Shank Redemption moment.

Shepard: "I wish I could tell you we beat the reapers, I wish I could tell you we fought the good fight. Put those ****ers are powerful."
