Scions are a bloody nightmare; armoured and possess an attack you can't defend against. While I can dodge their Shockwaves my teammates are all but guaranteed to bite the dust when a Scion is on the scene. Any encounter with them devolves into a frantic damage race that really sucks the fun out of a good firefight for me. Hate them.

Flamethrowers.

On Insanity - you see 1 within 5 yards of you? You're dead unless both your squad members are off cooldown.

harbinger.

hes more powerfull then comander shepard. he can knock me out of cover with his biotics. nobody, not even the great commander shepard can do that. im pretty sure i have ARMOR and SHIELDS up too. but his biotics penetrate that. its like im fighting an ME1 level 60 adept with my ****ty level 30 ME2 adept. hes got no cooldowns er something. hes got singularity, incinerate, a shield blast type thing, and all kinds of abilties.

in ME3 i want to play as harbinger. forget commander shepard. what a ****.

For me, Praetorians beat out Scions because of how much faster they move and their damn tactics. Lets go over it shall we?

1. They hover, letting them shoot right over most cover.

2. They come after you, so you can't just hide and shoot like 90% of the other fights.

3. They are armed with some freakishly powerful ray weapon that will destroy you in three seconds of fire.

4. They are armored more than almost anything else in the game, including scions.

5. They regenerate a barrier every so often, especially when you are close to them.

6. The barrier regeneration also happens to hurt quite a lot if you're nearby.

With scions, the main thing is to keep your distance. Their shockwaves only go so far, and if you must be close to them keep moving sideways, you just might be able to sidestep it. They move slowly, if at all, so consistently nailing them with head shots is pretty easy.

So yeah, Praetorians for the loss in record time!

As much as I hate Praetorians, I found them to be more manageable than the freaking Scions.

Amen Scions were the freakin worst. Shoot right though cover and are an absolute tank on insanity mode. I didn't have any trouble with the Preatorians but that part in the collecter ship w/ the Scion floating back and forth while your stuck on a 4 meter wide hunk of metal w/ no where to dodge and having to deal w/ harbinger too was painful.

Scions on insanity with no medi-gel, heavy ammo, or squadmates left (damn those husks too). It was like shooting an air-rifle at a tank...

So i charged and went melee for the lols and re-loaded last auto save.

Wow. So many people have trouble with Scions. Yet they almost never bothered my Engineer thanks to the combat drone.

The two Praetorians are not that bad. Both areas have plenty of cover for you to kite him around. An SMG or someone with warp can chew that barrier pretty handily. Scions without any help are easy. Husks... oh husks. Husks rush you in big packs interspersed with exploding husks. If they surround you, you can't move, they keep knocking you on your heels. By themselves, they are not deadly. But if anyone else is hiding nearby with a gun... so not the deadliest of enemies, but by far the most annoying.

i found Shockwave to be the best anti-husk weapon in the game,

Morinth. Wished the **** would just shut up so I could take her home and kill her. And why did we need to set a trap? I could have just put a bullet in her head at any time.

Husks. They almost always come in swarms, and there's almost always another wave. And scions. And the stun when they hit you is insane. Can't let them touch you on insanity or it's game over.

I'ma go with husks.

Sounds odd, but getting swarmed by armoured husks on Insanity is a right rightmare. Scions are suckers for combat drones and YMIR/Praetorians are easy .. you just find a box and keep circling it while chipping away at the big SOBs. Missile sniping Vorcha are tougher to handle than they are.

Incendniary Ammo takes care of husks if you back pedal with your squad they are not so bad. Concussive Shot and Throw work well if they get too close after taking their armor down. Scions are such a pain because even if you survive your squad won't. They run right up 5 ft. from them and get blasted. This esp. sucks on derelict Reaper on insane. You fight them in pairs mostly there. It hurts. A lot.

Two words.... Heavy Warp.

But the ones I hate the most are Scions.  Because they always show up when there are other characters.  You need to hide but those stupid things slam you with the blue shockwave stuff.  Thank goodness for the Cain.

I sometimes wonder if all Reapers do in darkspace is continually practice annoying each other with horrible one-liners. No wonder they hate all life.

Not only that but it is the same line over and over again.  The only way he is bearable on Horizon is if you bring Grunt... because he starts talking trash to Grunt instead of you.

What would have been nice is if Shepard talked back to him.  Saying stuff like....  1)  You already tried killing me and it didn't take.  2)  I killed your brother and your next.  3)  I will destroy you!

I had to throw number three in.

Totally disagree, my favorite enemy in the whole game and I honestly like the YMIR mechs too.  They both provide a real challenge which forces you to adapt your tactics.  If that challenge annoys you then just lower the difficulty.

For me the most annoying enemy was the Collector Guardians.   Those SOBs would invariably put up that damned shield and just wait and wait until eventually they turned into the Harbringer.

The hands down most annoying enemy in the entire game though goes to one very particular enemy.   That ****ing ****, piece of ****, son of a ****, Bloodpack Pyro who sits behind cover around that damned blind corner on the way to the third shutter door during the Archangel Recruitment Mission.  On insanity if you walk around that corner there is nowhere you can stand that he cannot hit you and if he does it will continually stun you so that he can just stand there frying you until you drop.   Add to that the fact that he's already pointing his flamethrower at the only place you can hit him from and that he's behind cover and that he has two troopers backing him up and that he's got full armor (on insanity) and it adds up to one annoying mothe****er.

In ME1 on insanity, the Thorian was nothing compared to the mercs in the Wrex's Armor mission.  My level 60 soldier could literally get one in a corner and melee his ass to the ground then continually empty my series X Spectre assault rifle (upgraded with sledgehammer X rounds and two frictionless materials so that it would never overheat no matter how long you fired it.) into his head until he got up, melee his ass back down to the ground and continue shooting him in the head from now until the end of time and never kill him; because his health regeneration and damage resistance were both so high that he regenerated health faster than I could deal damage.   I actually beat that mission on insanity; but the only way to do it was to focus on one merc at a time, use the same method I described above and use warp on them repeatedly until eventually after about two minutes they would die and then you could move onto the next merc until eventually you finished off all twenty or so of them.  It was a total **** and no fun whatsoever; but it just pissed me off so much that I refused to let it beat me.  It took me 6 hours.

Those dudes were way more annoying than anything ME2 throws at you.

PS:  If you didn't play ME1 the Assault Rifle I was using was the most powerful one in the game and it was equipped with the most powerful version of an ammo that reduced an enemies ability to regenerat health.

Harbinger (whom I assume is actually a Reaper) probably doesn't actually speak English, in the Mass Effect universe... Shepard understands their language, ever since the Prothean beacon, so that's why it's in English from the player's point of view.

Even so, yeah I wish there was a way to turn Harbinger's voice off.

On Insanity for me it's generally in that order:

Praetorian - just because it always manages to recharge its biotic barrier when being one-shot away from death thanks to some squad member who decides to close in...

Husks - they're just too many! It's a nightmare to stop them as an Infiltrator with the Widow sniper as a main weapon, even with the Tempest SMG upgraded...

Blue Suns Heavies - rocket spam. I hate them with a passion.

Vorcha - only in the early stages of the game, but since that's when you mostly meet them, they can be quite annoying with their fast-regenerating health. Even the rare Krogan that accompany them are easier to take out.

Scions: Easy, stay in cover, hammer em with warp, incinerate or armor kiling ammo.

Husks/Abominations: easy as pie with Concuss blast or biotic push, shotgun with incendiary/AP ammo is advised

praetorians: can be somewhat of a pain in the ass without a biotic with warp on your team or a good supply heavy weapons ammo, Warp ammo is advised against them.

Harbinger: Easy, stay away from him, stay behind cover hammer with warp, reave, and gun fire.

I would have to say the most annoying have to be geth prime to be honest, even though there are maybe 4 or 5 of em in the game. machine gun damage is outrageously OP, missiles knock you out of cover 90% of the time. they take dozens of shots to kill.
