Ok. First off I love this game and the first game has been a favorite of mine since its release because it was the first game I'd encountered that combined shooters and RPGs well since Deus Ex (the first because the 2nd was terrible.).

However after playing through this game 6 times so far I can barely stand the thought of playing it again for one reason. The scanning.  Giving us 50k each for the long service reward is nice for sure and I'd be fine with that if I hadn't seen my brother playing the PC version of this game today.  I'll be honest. If I hadn't seen just how obscene the difference is between the versions is I'd have been happy. But I did.

Its absurd how much faster the scanner goes on PC. It takes me at least 2 hours of planet scanning to fully upgrade everything on a playthrough. It takes my brother on his PC 20 minutes.

WHY?

Why not allow us to obtain the upgrades on our successive playthroughs simply by finding their upgrade terminal or weapon scan without cost. That way we can't upgrade our weapons or shields to max right from the start, only as we advance through the game. Minus the senseless and boring grinding that is included only in the Xbox 360 version of this game.

I have great faith in you as developers to do the right thing if you can and give the 360 owners a break with a patch if you can.

yes, just saw the PC version for mineral scanning, way way faster and less irritating. Maybe its a tech limitation (kinda find this hard to believe). But on a positive note, this is way better than having to roam around in a Mako.

Yes the mako was a game breaker for me.
