Sorry for the poor title but I was just lurking the DA:O Awakening forums and while reading people's opinions of the expansion and opinion's of others who are playing ME2 I have found that a lot of complaints can be tied to the fact that you are playing the same character. It seems that ME2 would make more sense if you were a new character, maybe a Cerberus operative. First the council would be able to deny the "Reapers" without it being an outright insult because you the character really have no knowledge of the "Reapers" existence. Second other characters could act like they do in game (Ashley, Kaidan, Liara) without it seeming out of character for both the player and the NPC. It seems like for the time being Bioware is ignoring variables that are costly such as LI dialogue and scenes for ME1 characters that could die easily, the same might be said of DA:A (I'm not going to say "is" because I've not played the game and am merely therozing). The problem is when you don't account for these variables you break immersion between the player and his or her character. My warden's dog left her, seriously? By trying to meet us half way by giving us are old characters but by hitting a partial reset button it seems off. I don't know, maybe it is just me but I think these games would make more "sense" story wise if you played as a new character rather than retaining an old character...thoughts? Sorry if this topic has been addressed before.
