For that matter, if Shep dies in the suicide mission, that Shep is not available for a ME2 NG+ import. He/She is just flat out gone.

It's probably safe to say that the canon ending for ME2 is Shephard lives. Or dies and is rebuilt again???

You're all wrong! If Shepard dies at the end of ME2, you can import
your save, but you have to play as Conrad Verner impersonating
Commander Shepard. And if you shot poor Conrad in the foot then the
reapers take over and kill all life in the galaxy. Good job ya jerk!

SO, what they are saying, is dying at the end has the same results as if you had never played ME2.

So, not really different from those of us who never played ME1.



However, a timed radiation pulse to destroy the remaining collectors, and keep the base intact, with Shep falling to his "death", we could well end up with a Shepard Reaver.

Shepard dying isn't canon, it's just an easter egg in ME2 and it's probably the hardest ending to achieve (even if everyone's loyal without any upgrades you can still survive)

I don't think "easter egg" is the best way to describe it but Shepard dying would most certainly keep you from importing the save to ME3.

 if you let shepard dies in me2 ending.you cant import your saves to me3 and you should start me3 with default shepard.. so i think its better to save shepard from death in ending  .shepard death its the worst ending in mass effect 2:?

 You would've thought that since Shepard dies in 3 anyway, Joker would've had something to say about that? I know it defeats the point of the series, but maybe Biware, should've added a species choose option? But only for Mass Effect 3 if Shepard dies in 2?
