We should have alot of people covering this and they should be rewarded and thanked for doing it.

Hmmm, guess I'll put up a wishlist and maybe someone will make them at some point. =]

Hoping for a video tutorial covering:
  • Introduction on how to setup/prepare the Toolset for a proper module.
  • How to create a simple area/level with a house in it.
  • How to setup starting points and any PC preparations.
  • How to create an area transition into and out from the house.
  • How to setup a shopkeeper with items inside the house with dialogue.
  • How to setup a questgiver inside the house, giving you a quest to kill a few darkspawn somewhere in the area and retreive a stolen gem.
  • How to setup that quest to work with plot flags and what not, giving you the option of returning the gem, or killing the questgiver and keeping the gem.
  • A review of this little module, showing it off ingame.
Something like this would be an awesome introductory tutorial for new builders. =]

It's not really important which video site is used, but everyone knows of youtube and it's easily accessable to everyone in that way. What would be great is to have a few video tutorials showing how to create a simple module, doesn't really matter what site is used. =]

That would be nice. What about users who want to turn to the dark side? Certainly having tutorials on youtube would attract more people to become modders and help some current ones to get into the magic.

Gotta agree with the idea. A movie tutorial is way better than a simple manual. Especially for beginners. I don't see what's wrong with youtube though. It's relatively fast and easilly accessible.

I am quite sure they already stated they are making tutorial videos. If you go to the projects part of this site, there is a project for the videos; no file though until the game is released. If you go to the toolset forum on the main site there is extensive information there.

Even if the official team is not planning on making vid tutorials Im pretty sure there WILL be user made tutorials as it happened with Neverwinter Nights. Which internet site is used to publish those is not really important. The important things is that they come out.

I did watch some intro's on the toolset several months ago. 'Course those weren't tutorials, per se, but I can only imagine they will get made... As for the specific site, I agree, varies.

Youtubes quality is not high enough for a good video tutorial, the Fallout 3 ones should be compared to Silentcids and you will see exactly what i mean.

whaat? 720P isn't good enough? And on top of that YouTube will be accepting 1080P video's next week. I say, if it's good enough for Transformers, it's good enough for a toolset tutorial :bandit:

Thank you for these by the way.
