My main character is a rogue and I want to make him into a duelist.  Unfortunately I left Isabella's card game twice since I assumed it was a simple dext check that I just didn't meet at the time.  I guess I offended her the second time I quit because she left and now I can't find her in the Pearl.  May I still find her?  Am I no longer capable of becoming a duelist because of this?

Reload an old save and redo it. Don't even save after you do this, just load your most recent save. You will have Ranger unlocked.

So it's a permanent screw-up that denies you access to a specialization and can never be reversed? Seems extremely harsh since the game gives no warning of this. Also, what does Ranger have to do with this?

I meant Duelist. No it's not a permanent screwup. There is probably a duelist book too, I don't know. Do what I said though, it doesn't require you having to redo a lot. Once you unlock a specialization on one char, it unlocks it for every character.

yes, i played and kept losing the same way every hand so i left (I said goodbye in dialogue) thinking that i needed more dexterity. I returned a few levels higher and still lost, so I quit her game again, this time she was angry and left. Now I can't find her and I worry that I've lost access to the specialization forever

I also desire an answer on this if someone has found one. I was hoping she would return once I'd completed another story quest but no dice.

In fact I get to unlock duelist with help from Zevran, who knows Isabella from before, my pc not being dexterous himself...

if you bring leliana with you she will help you at the card game , or you can talk to her into something else if you dont have leliana or zevran with you note that if you have them with you and romancing leliana after beeing hardened you can have something not bad happenning

While it may not be what you want to hear, you could make another character and be successful at cards or just charming and unlock duelist, and it will be unlocked on the character that you want to make into a duelist.
