When I first read this I was like. "what?" Then I realized the poster was actually serious, and I laughed out loud. Yes there are a few valid points, some minor annoyances that should be addressed. But yammering on about the game basically being too difficult is hilariously laughable. Games have been dumbed down for over a decade, its about damn time they put some challenge back in them.

Actually i believe the OP was airing his opinion on the game programming not being quite up to par. Some people complain about the difficulty and it was notched down in the patch they put out. So while you are entitled to your own opinion about the game being as good as it is, doesn't mean everyone shares it. But it is laughable to watch people come to disparage anyone that doesn't agree that its "Teh best game evar!!11".

Go ahead, defend the game against other peoples opinions. Its a funny read.

Internet at its finest.

Its an ok game, your usual RPG, which is a cut above most out in the last 4-5 years, but I dont think its bioware's "BEST GAME EVER". I suppose you could say that if you never experienced Black Isle titles and such.

Difficulty levels are not my primary concern here Suspage. So while I do touch on that in the post its not exactly a major issue for me.

And you'll see, scattered around this very forum, if you look, various posts from hundreds of different people some claiming the game is too easy others claiming the game is too hard, the truth is likely somewhere in the middle.

But anyways I'm not whining about difficulty levels, I could care less about them in comparison to my other concerns with the frustrating combat dynamics, the tactics systems bugs I'm discovering and the class talents that simply do not work as stated in mouse over information and thats just the tip of the iceberg.

And I played the game on normal yesterday and found it easier to deal with with more experience in the dynamic so again, difficulty levels aren't really whats being discussed here, AI issues, combat dynamics and broken parts of the core system and secondary systems that make up actual game play are what I'm discussing.

Completely agree with OP so far. Having survived the waves at redcliff so far only with the aid of cheese tactics (running back and forth between town center and templars for the last two waves) on normal (PC) mode and now entering the castle my enjoyment dwindles with every battle.
Gameplay feels more like a full time job counteracting retarded AI-behavior requiring hitting spacebar every second. (If anyone wants to know, Im playing as "Tank", Bard as ranger, Morrigan trying to heal + CC from time to time and Alistair swinging his 2 handed weapon)
Especially not being able to use anything but constant-draining abilities sucks so far.
(Threat + Shieldwall (+ Precise Striking)). .... No stamina left for something interesting.

Story, atmosphere, "social" interactivity are unparalleled so far. However the gameplay is tedious at best.

IF you feel the need to complain this much why even play the game? I've had the AI ignore my commands once or twice but quickly corrected it otherwise I would have to say you are completely at fault for your whinning. I've been playing for 52 hours & I've never had my party members (aside from once or twice) do exactly as I instructed through manual control or the tactics tab. pening a debate on nothing. It hink you just need to practice & get better at the game or you just pay too much attention to certain details leave out others ending up blinded & blame the game or claims its not doing what the talent or skill claims. So few ppl actually say anythign constructive to help the game. Compared to all current & older games this game is a triumph among RPG. Enjoy the game & stop complaining about every last detail.

Nice write up, its critical but It definatly goes into the WHY and not just OMGTHISSUX so I have to respect that right there.

True, Easy mode should be rebalanced, I think its pretty sad Easy mode is actually not so easy. But the one thing i abo****ely agree with is Lock Picking, The whole system is messed up. Why make the ONLY companion so fully able to lock pick the good one? Sure you can train up Zevran but he is so not specced to properly be a lock picker, it takes way too much work. Which means we are stuck with Leliana and have to constantly placate her if your a evil party and thats in addition to the stupid unclear lockpicking mechanics that will fail even when you are supposedly "Master Lockpick"
