Okay, after seeing a bunch of references to Bioware devoting all resources to DLC post-ME2 launch with designers throwing the expansion pack word around, and with the precedent set by Awakening for Dragon Age, could it be possible that....

The Suicide Mission is just the beginning of ME2's story?

There's really nothing within the context of the current game for the Hammerhead vehicle to be of any use. It's strictly an "on the ground" operation for every single assignment. Find a current mission where a hovertank would be of any use.

That, to me, means that the vehicle is a platform for post suicide mission events designed to bridge ME2a as it were - the Suicide Mission - through ME2b to ME3.

There will be more content added to the ME2 Suicide Mission part first of course. Kasumi is apparently a new character, there wouldn't be audio for her role in the suicide mission if she didn't exist. The Hammerhead could be built in for some new sidequests or maybe said Kasumi's loyalty quest.

All of that will be cool, but when Casey Hudson is talking about the possibility of going to Earth as DLC in an interview, designers are mentioning xpacs, the functionality of Cerberus Network designed specifically for staying in touch and DLC updated on a regular basis, and the game gives you the option to continue immediately after the Collector base is destroyed, that means the story isn't over yet to me.

Perhaps, but they were going to add the Hammerhead missions in later. Meaning when we get the Hammerhead we get the missions for it. The more ME2 content the better though.

I really, really, REALLY hope they add some post game content in one of hte DLC packages. Something that like you said, builds onto what ME3 will be like.

Maybe saying goodbye to Jack, Samara and Zaeed for one? Since I imagine they'll all leave once you are done with your mission.

I would hands down pay another $40 bucks if they made an expansion as expansive as awakening for dragon age.

Perhaps not Samara as she may see the mission as a way of fulfilling her code (by saving the galaxy from the greatest injustice). A loyal Jack has nothing better to do, but I could see Zaeed leaving.

The mission format they have now makes it so that you can realistically have a character leave the Normandy but still have an effect on the game.

Sure, Zaeed could leave and he probably will, but if he finds a lead on Vido who's he gonna call? Drop your Hammerhead, weave your way through Blue Suns perimeter defenses and then kill that goddam bastard before he starts to stink lol. Zaeed becomes the new boss and guess who's helping you fight the Reapers in ME3?

There's so much potential for post-Suicide Mission content its utterly ticklish

I enjoyed Bringing Down the Sky and even getting my own apartment with Pinnacle Station, but the Suicide Mission of ME2 already felt like more of a side quest, so I really hope any DLC that is released focuses on driving the main story forward and setting the scene for ME3.

It would not surprise me at all to see a major expansion in early 2011 and then ME3 in late 2011 or early 2012. (I think late 2010 and early 2011 is a little too soon.) Then again, it also would not surprise me at all if the DLC we receive doesn't have anything to do with the main campaign, and the arc doesn't continue until ME3.

Well if we dont have DLC that expands the story in a diffrent direction that would be kinda dissapointing and breaking the Emersion of the Reapers, since now it seems to go like:

Reapers: Lets get some minions to help us

So they pick the geth in part 1 and they fail.

Reapers: Hmm we need some other minions, i know lets get those geneticly engineerd proteans to help us out

So they pick Collectors in part 2 and fail

And there there going all like,  'Hmm who should we pick now?'

If they are truely the badass race that has been around for milions of years, kicking Organic ass you would think that they realise that you always need a plan B,C,D,E,F,G etc. to make sure you get stuff done...

So i´m hopeing Bioware comes out with an Expansion where we see the reapers at work from a whole diffrent point, since i think that if you have been around that long you must have a lot of tricks up your sleeve

They could probably even make some Great Non main story DLC like helping wrex-grunt helping to unite the clans. helping Tali trying to get to Flotilla back together. Helping Legion trying to get the geth to stop ****shipping the Reapers etc. wich would be great to help the story evolve
