I'd certainly be open to it (just call me Zev) but I don't see it being very likely.  So much of the romantic/sexual relationship is patterned into us from thousands upon thousands of years of biological conditioning, and as Mordin points out, body language, pharomones, etc. make the prospects of inter-species relationships rather dim.

Still, I guess with the Asari mind-controlling everyone into thinking they're hot, you never know.

Well I think in our word a lot of couples stay together who don't want or can't have children, so that wouldn't be a factor for everyone. I think similarity of genitals and compatable sexual responses would be rather important though.

Now that that barrel of fail is out of the way: I posted here earlier, and then remembered I failed to even say a word about asari or krogan. Silly me.
These, along with the really non-humanoid aliens (elcor, hanar, vorcha), are the only ones I wouldn't want to get in a relationship with. Why? Lifespans. It just... I'd feel really weird getting in a relationship with someone that'd not just outlive me, but outlive me for centuries. It would just be weird, for me at least. No matter how attractive the asari are... (damn it).

Batarians: I find them very ugly. He would have to be very VERY special, because seriously I would rather kiss a krogan. It's not just the four eyes... Or maybe it's the eyes, that remind me of insects... eww.

The other species are a bit too alien. Also, they are portrayed in very simplistic ways that don't make them very interesting, romance-wise. Hanar don't have faces and are extremely polite, Elcor walk in four legs and are slooooow, etc.

Make sure when you make-out with Garrus i'm not here to watch the show

"Animal" in that context is likely refering to 2 different species going at it. Otherwise since you note that "biologicaly" humans and aliens are "animals"(and I wont get into kingdom, genus, phylum debate) human on humans would be beastiality, which it isn't or we wouldn't have that word. Different species having sex IS beastiality. Its fine that you accept a beastial lifestyle as defined above, but you should stop living a lie and admit it. Just say "In some instances I am okay with beastiality."

Having sex with a fully sentient/sapient "chimpanzee" capable of speech wouldn't be bestiality, no.

It'd just be really, really ****ing gross. Unless she looked a bit like Helena Bonham-Carter under there, I guess....

For example, Corran Horn, of the Star Wars EU, had sex with an alien that  is basically a giant otter. I consider this to be both disgusting and hilarious, but not bestiality.

Bestiality is not accepted by society because it involves a sapient being engaging in a sexual act with a nonsapient being.  Mutual consent is necessary for a healthy relationship.

Poopoomonster's argument has little to do with consent, however.   It seems more to me that he/she is made uncomfortable by the idea of individuals who look different from each other getting it on.  In the context of two logically capable, sentient creatures, I feel that species borders have little to no ethical significance.

While I can understand that certain relationships portrayed in Mass Effect can make some people uncomfortable, I'm puzzled why they feel it necessary to heap contempt on people with different opinions.
