I think you're probably just looking at a new computer. I'm guessing you'd need to get a new motherboard in order to put any recent graphics card in it, and I have no idea if you'd have acceptable CPU upgrades either (what socket were the P4s anyway? Hmm...) Once you ditch the motherboard, you're basically looking at a new computer.

That would probably depend on how strong of a P4 yours has in it, but that MX card wasn't any good for games back when the Dimesion was brand new.  As always, refer to Chris' directions in the pinned message, second from the top, in the (ME2) PC Tech Support forum.   Well, it's been bumped down the third spot, now.

PC MINIMUM System Requirements
OS = Windows XP SP3 / Windows Vista SP1 / Windows 7
Processor = 1.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo or equivalent AMD CPU
Memory = 1 GB RAM for Windows XP / 2 GB RAM for Windows Vista and Windows 7
Hard Drive = 15 GB
DVD ROM = 1x Speed
Sound Card = DirectX 9.0c compatible
Direct X = DirectX 9.0c August 2008 (included)
Input = Keyboard / Mouse
Video Card = 256 MB (with Pixel Shader 3.0 support). Supported Chipsets: NVIDIA GeForce 6800 or greater; ATI Radeon X1600 Pro or greater. Please note that NVIDIA GeForce 7300, 7400, 7500, 8100, 8200, 8300, 8400, 9200, and 9300; ATI Radeon HD 2400, 3200, HD 3450, HD 3470, and HD 4350 are below minimum system requirements. Updates to your video and sound card drivers may be required. Intel  and S3 video cards are not officially supported in Mass Effect 2.

The HD 5400 & HD 5500 are newer than the game is, and couldn't be named there as too slow.

The above was also Cross-Posted, Twice, in the ME2 Tech Discussions Forum, and Cross-Posting is against the agreements / restrictions in the Terms of Service (naughty, in other words).  Kloreeps's reply here, and mine, in the other forum, were about the same.

The only positive aspect I see out of this is that there had been no announcement that I saw to say that the ME Tech Forum had been split, and the ME1 was folded into the Xbox360 forum, which I had been ignoring.
