I suspect its related to the ongoing tweaking of the site in general - fiddling with one thing breaking another untl someone discovers it and tweaks some more.

In that sense it's certainly a good idea to post about it - just because no official answers are posted in the thread doesn't necessarily mean no one saw it and passed the gist of it on to the gnomes in the basement to add to their current agenda.

AFAIK, this complaint started off with the site's first opening, over a year and a half ago (see my Avatar's start date, that matches to the official opening here).

Deciding to ignore the "Remember Me" tick-off is very counterintuitive, and so far, not productive for me.

There are 20 message threads here in this forum with the same complaint that have the word "logged" in the complaint title.  There are a dozen more that have the word "logging" in the title, and another three that have the two words "log out" in their subject lines.  The biggest one of all didn't show up in any of those three variations of a search, but I used the site function that is supposed to "search" and really is terrible at it. 

That is a total of 35, folks, and getting more frequent because it is getting worse.

They are aware of the issue and looking into the cause(s) of it, as per this thread.
