MAC or PC

I like PC gaming opposed to console, and I've got almost 200G of music and video files. I have some productivity software (MS Office) and Adobe picture editing is nice but not essential. Are you a Mac Book owner? What was the transition like for you? Do you have a sweet notebook produced by a reliable - other than Dell - manufacturer? Have you had issues?
Any advice would be great.

Dude go with the Falcon Northwest system, I have one an absolutely love it, I had an Alien Ware an it was crap and before that I had commited the mother of all sins with my first PC I bought a Dell. What made it worse it was a Mini Tower so all upgrading was costly because it was all specialized parts.

never get a mac, Windows games will not run on macs so that will wipe out a HUGE chunk of games available to you, not to mention the 'virus free' is apparently just because of a built in virus protector as good as any windows one (cept maybe norton) and they overprice for brand name,
for the record, mac and windows are OSs, you can buy a PC and run a mac OS on it, it makes little difference really, i believe
i am currently using a 10lb Gateway gaming laptop, it has a 17in screen and will melt a table while running dragon age (cus of the 100% usage glitch so the fan goes berserk), aside from that i love it, had it just over a year and no problems
side note, GO LINUX

The main reason not to buy a Mac are price and GPU, but if he was previously with Alienware the former doesn't seem a big factor.
For serious gaming, I'd look at Sager or Asus... For more casual, there are lots of options including the overpriced Macs.

Right now it seems Lenovo is out in front with performance to cost ratio. Any thoughts?

Yeah I went with Alienware looking for a performance machine. The specs are fine but the customer service and support sucks - so I'm looking around.

Im telling you man go with Falcon Northwest. Yes are they a little pricey sure, but they are well worth the money you put into them. I have been an alienware guy and the Tech Support has sucked since they were bought out. IMO and that is all it is new alienware are nothing but a high priced dell.

I am running Windows on my iMac just for gaming, do rest of the stuff in Mac OS. I love the design and the performance but agree that there is a price you pay for this which is probably really just marketing.
The only game I had issues with has been Divinity 2 which did not allow the patch to be run without corrupting the whole game. Besides this, the games have been running like a charm, with a really good stability and looking pretty.

Amen to that...besides the fact that you can't play most games on the mac the thing is so overpriced...the only bright side to a mac in my opnion is that you don't need to buy virus protection

Sure, sure; trust the Devil and don´t run. There are plenty of absolutely free anti-virus programs (Avast is free in the home edition) that work very well and mac with no virus is another urban legend.
