Nope, you die because nobody is there to pull you into the Normandy (Joker is not strong enough).

Actually do a search for "Thane is a Jerk". Soemone managed to get Thane to be the only teammate that survived. He went in and left Shep to die though. You need to save two squaddies to make it out.
