This has been going on for over 8 months, very poor show, and when you do ask the hard questions in the chat forum, they disconnect you. Very poor show from EA. I love the ME games and have pre-ordered ME3 but this makes me just want to visit PirateBay instead, at least the BDtS works from their torrents.

OK the serial they gave me works now, so I guess they ARE raising the activation limit all the time.
Anyone having problems contacting them through mail should try the live chat system, using the chat I got the serial in 5 minutes from a rep, no questions asked at all. And you also get a chance to complain about this stupid issue, as an added bonus...

Definitely use the Live Chat system, sometimes you get lucky and have a great rep who gets this mess sorted in about 5 minutes like I did.

To be fair though, go easy on the reps guys, dealing with this problem is probably as much of a pain in the arse for them as it is us, eh?

Yeah I'm getting the same issue. The rep did give out the code when I suggested I could keep trying until the activation limit was increased, which suggests it's truly the best they can do.

Kicking myself now for not writing down the code when I got the game... 2.5 years ago...

Is it fair to assume that they just aren't supporting BDtS anymore? I'd hate to import my save into Mass Effect 3 only to find out that the decision with Balak suddenly matters...

I got my BDTS key from EA support Sunday morning and ran into the same activation limit problems mentioned above. I tried the install again this afternoon and it was successful, so it appears EA has raised the activation limit again.

After some pressing, the rep gave me the code to try later: it was working a few hours later.

The rep I talked to wouldn't give me the key because my date of birth somehow didn't match the one I gave when I created the account in 2002. Really.

I'be been trying for over a week now. But the EA advisors in the chat keep telling my that there is an issue with their key-generating-tool. When I pointed out, that there are indeed people who got keys in the last days and where able to use them, once the activation limit was raised, this wasn't even acknowledged, but instead I was told, that I'll be informed through the official website.

I'm aware that the individual EA support persons I had contact with are not to blame, but frustration is really beginning to creep up on me.

Could someone who got a key in the last days explain, what they said in order go get one? Maybe I'm just not asking the right questions.

Quick update:
After posting this, I contacted the German EA support for a change (I'm from Germany, but I didn't think of that before) and wrote them an email asking for a new key. Now, a mere two hours later, I received an answer with a working key for BdtS. Apparently it was no problem at all.

Just a pointer for people who are also despairing because of the stonewalling from the EA support advisors.

I have been assigned your to your incident and will be more than happy to do everything in my power to resolve this issue for you in a timely manner. Unfortunately, since this is an older title, Bioware has made the decision to take this portion of the server offline, that grants the content to the accounts, in order allocate more space for new games to come. So unfortunately, at this point the DLC that you are looking to acquire is no longer available.

Basically it wasn't making them any money, so they got rid of it. Glad I saved a copy of the key as well as the DLC, and have an entire image of my system should anything bad happen.

Be fair, we're talking two-three years for one bit of content. We were never told it would be around forever, and we cannot expect it to be. And they have hardly pretended it doesn't exist, so to act like that is ridiculous.

BioWare may find a work around for it, but we just have to wait and see.

 Mine won`t work. Do you need some kind of patch?

You definately need the 1.02 patch, as well as make sure you run the game as admin, and in XP compatibility mode.
