I tried to get the code today (I had bought the original pc version which came with and the steam version and neither of those codes work) and the ea advisor told me they don't have any more working codes. If that was wrong, I would love to be corrected...

Edit: Nevermind, I tried the code I got again. It worked this time. The support person just didn't know anything. Woot.

Every time I put in the key all I get is a message saying "Installation has been canceled" no error, nothing about invalid key, just "Installation has been canceled'...

Only i never had to DL the modified installer, just slapped the code into the installer from the old bioware site..

Unfortunately with EA's support redesign, phone support is out of the question and they don't offer chat support either. Stuck waiting for e-mails, and even then I'm totally expecting them to brush me off with an excuse of "You bought it on Steam, tough ****."

Astera's solution worked for me. Failed at first, but once I turned off my windows 7 firewall it worked fine.

It doesn't exist anymore. The only way now apparently is to contact EA support for a key or  to use the mod version mentioned above. I put in an email to EA a week ago using their support site and they haven't responded yet except for the initial acknowledgement of my attempt to contact them lol.

I did too on my Notebook yesterday.But I get the error on my Desktop.. shame. At least I can continue my save game on my notebook, because it will no longer function here, since BDtS is missing.
Im now downloading from the link mentioned above (What link?! This LINK ).

EDIT: Didnt change anything. Too bad!

EDIT 2:

I just contacted EA. I couldnt choose the CHAT option when I filled in i needed support for ME1. So I lied, and filled in ME3. And, like magic, a chat button appeared *yay*.

Had to wait 9 minutes. I did.

The guy in the chat said Hello. So did I.
I told him, I need a working serial key for Mass Effect (1) DLC Bring Down the Sky. Since I cant find my old one because its no longer on the site.

And he responded right away with a new key.

Thanks Gotyn!! I am currently trying your resolve as we speak. However, I am lacking in confidence with the CSR that is helping me with this issue. He's acting like I am speaking a foreign language, and has no clue what I'm taking about. He just told me "please give me two minutes to look up your problem." *Sigh* If anyone gets "Anil" as their CSR, I suggest closing the window and trying again for a different operator.

*Edit 1*  So he finally issued me a CD Key, however, its a non-working key.  Now, he gave me his "allow me 2 minutes" line again to look it up.  TEN minutes later, Im still waiting for him to respond...

*Edit 2*  Here are his words exactly: "I increase the user limit on this code you have to wait for 1 hour."  Well, before I let him off the hook, I tried the code again and it still doesn't work.  I explained to him that this will likely NOT solve my problem as this code is a generic code, and who is to say that other random people don't use this code before I get a chance.  Well, he is sticking to his guns and saying that it takes an hour for it to work.  Im asking if I can speak to an escalated representative or a supervisor, but he is dodging that quickly....

*Edit 3*  After explaining to him further that I am recording this conversation and that I will email it to the appropriate people, he finally goes into action.  Bet you cant guess what he says! <_<  "Please allow me 2 minutes."  As the White Snake song once preached....."Here we go again!"

*Edit 4*  It is amazing the work people can do when faced with the possibility they will receive negative feedback.  After an 8 minute delay, he came back with a working code.  If anyone is having these same issues, try using this code:

Unfortunately it didnt workj for me. I contacted support through your method and they tried giving me the exact same serial. Haha. And theyre telling me my ME serial is invalid, probably because it is through Steam. Now im on hold for the 2nd time. Woo.

I've solved my code issue in 5min. with the same way 'Gotyn' recommends.

Anyone seeking for code should just choose subject as 'mass effect 3' and ask for ''bring down the sky'' code in the chat box which will appear instantly after clicking chat option. If you are lucky, you'll get the code within 5-10 min. Or else you may have to wait for 1 hour, max. I suppose .

Your EMAIL US link, takes me to an EA FYI page. The Bring Down The Sky page for ME1 is broken. Check the links, it takes you to main Bioware page. There seems to be NO WAY to contact a real person via phone or email. I am ready to FexEx mail each of the Board of Directors and Upper level executives to get this matter fixed. I have done this before to Comcast about their revolviing door distribuition of cable boxes with bad drives. They sent me a new one, boxed, and the company took my advice to put new drives in each one that failed testing. A jerk at Best Buy screwed me on a warranty that covered damage. I called and postal mailed corporate until I got him fired. And the staff at the Best Buy in Braintree MA, treat me like a VIP.
I will contact EA corp, X-Play, AOTS, and the rest of the media by ALL MEANS, to get this exposed and fixed.
I have bought ME1 for PC TWICE just to keep Bring Down the Sky as I have rebuilt and upgraded my computer several times over the past 6 years. Now, even if I were to buy a new ME1 in a box, the page for the CD-KEY for BDtS is BROKEN!! Don't you want people new to Mass Effect play all THREE of the games? SInce decisions in both the first and second games effect the experience of the 3rd.

I will under take this as a merciless crusade, not just for me, but for all the loyal and new players of the MASS EFFECT series!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FIX THIS NOW!!!!!!!!

I didn't want to post my TWO SETS of CD-Keys for obvious reasons. But, I can produce them.

I will also use Facebook and contact X-Play and AOTS on G4 by all means until this problem is exposed world wide.
