Go to EA's website, click on Support, and follow the links from there.

You'll want to use the 'Contact Us' tab and submit an inquiry. Fill out all the fields and you'll be given the option to chat with an operator from there. Click on it and wait.

I must say it kinda stupid they have not updated this DLC. It now a free DLC but to be able to play it you still need a key. Really with this would be put on their website with all the other DLC or make a Patch 1.3 that just installs it. Yes alot of us are reinstalling ME1 and ME2 to get ready for ME3 but I think this problem is just poor planning.

And now a major data breach (Bioware), EA says, and we're all just thrilled with the EA handling (once again) of the takeover/management of Bioware....the morons. My Origin account, which used to be EA up until a few weeks ago, is boinked, and I can't get the DLC "Bring Down the Sky" working. They say to please reset your account/password, but they can't send any emails out right now, so I guess I just have to wait and wait and wait...

Three tech support "chats" and nothing's resolved with any of it. I had to (once again! like with DA2) do my own research and legwork and get the assistance of other users here just to get the DLC installed (EA couldn't help) and now I'm just waiting to get back in so I can access the DLC.

Does anyone know how to run the DLC (BDtS) without going through the Origin loader (formerly known as EADM: EA Download Manager)?

I'm so fed up I could scream.

OK, scratch that:  Someone told me it was on the Galaxy Map.  Maybe I just expect too much out of a company that's sucking away massive amounts of my money and paying misinformed kids to be official "tech help".  Call me old-fashioned, but results would be much appreciated.

Irritated, 4 different reps have told me they don't give out the keys and don't have access. When I said others have gotten it, they said that that's not possible. Love being called a liar.

Wow, but not really unsurprising though. They will give you one --- eventually.  Three different reps supposedly gave me different keys for BDtS, but they were all the same.  Is it possible that ALL the BDtS keys are now the same one that they're giving out?

Took me three tries and none of them worked, not even after being "escalated to a Tier 2 support rep".  I had to go to another forum page and do my own workaround to get it installed (and hopefully working: haven't had a chance to try it out yet).  I had some major account problems last night and didn't finally get "re-registered" until this morning because their email/account servers were so bogged down last night.  It finally "confirmed" my account updates last night at 1:45AM!!!  About 2 hours after going to bed.  Sheesh.

Here's the helpful page and instructions: social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/131/index/1942301

That trick worked for me (at least the installation part worked fine; I have yet to fire up the game and find it in the Galaxy Map though). As I said, major account problems last night had me preoccupied.

EDIT: Ok, if it is indeed shown as "Asteroid X57" then it must be working now, because I didn't notice that system before (it must be new) and I can travel to it in the game just fine.  Although someone (Bogsnot1) said to wait until later in the game to play it.  Thanks!!  You guys are SOOO much more helpful than EA's tech support -- again!!!!

I just ended my conversation with the EA customer support. What a joyous adventure it has been. It also resulted in, well, nothing.
The first rep asked for my ME key and EA account. After a while I was then redirected to the 'concerning team'. He then asked for the ME key again and told me - after a short while - that there are no keys. So I told him about the people here on the BioWare and on the Steam forums who got their keys from ea reps. Thereupon he replied that there is no way to register the keys and he has none. Consequently, I asked him kindly if he'd redirect me to someone that has the permission to hand these codes out. I was then told he is, in fact, the highest level of support. Which was not the answer I was looking for. I asked him why other customers were given keys and he simply said: "you used to be able to register the game for a code, I have done it, but the site is down." Wait, what? That was obviously still not the answer I was looking for. After that I rephrased my question and, again, pointed to the reports from the forums mentioned above. "I am checking around here if there is another way to get a code or to entitle the download for you, but there aren't any codes in the database or you would have one by now.", he answered. I told him I already have the dlc (since the download link is working) and I just can't install it. He then went away again (presumably to check further). Last but not least he told me this:"I have researched it, sorry to inform you but currently it is not available, Bioware is aware of this issue and should soon have a fix to register the game."
In essence, I still have no key. Which sucks... but 'BioWare is aware of this issue' allows for a shimmer of hope.

PS: I don't want to make fun of this representative in any way. He was a nice and likeable guy - a bit cold perhaps but that probably comes with the territory. Since he went away so often to look for possibilites I assume he tried everything he could to get me a key. And that's good in my book.

A small question perhaps: Was I redirected to the wrong team oder did they run out of keys?

Sounds like you got a caring, but clueless support rep. I dont mean clueless in a bad way, just that he, and by the sounds of it, the rest of the team he was working with, havent been made aware of how to do it by those in the know.

All I can suggest is give it another try when you think the shifts have changed, and you might find someone else who knows how to go along and do it.

Yeah, I'll probably try it tomorrow morning again. Let's just hope it will have a better ending than the previous chat. Thanks for the advice!

the chat people i talked to tried a couple of the DLC and none worked. I later read that the DLC key is linked to the me1 key that the DLC got used for. Lucky for me I don't like to throw things away and found my orginal me1 key.
I already received an e-mail for the chat i had, so i sent an e-mail back to them with my key. About a day or so later i got an e-mail back with a DLC key, and that worked.
It does sound as if u got someone that wasn't familiar with the problem. I hope u have better luck the next time u try.

Back with another report. This one is way more satisfying though. This guy immediately gave me a link and a key after I told him what the issue was. He didn't even ask for my ME key which I found to be a bit odd but... I got my key! I then asked him if he was some sort of customer support superman. Surprisingly he didn't answer the question. I suppose he wants to keep his identity secret.

I just received my DLC key from EA support using chat. Very quick and painless. The guy was very helpful and acknowledged how frustrating it was. Thank you all for your advice.

Maybe that explains why I can't log in to my other email address, which has all my games registered.

Will EA/Bioware re-instate the old registration pages when they have improved security? That way people who buy these classic games can actually play them!

Just got off chat with a tier 2 support at EA, they said their key generator no longer produces valid keys so they can't hand them out, and no ETA for resolution.

Edit: Contacted them again, was given a CD key that didn't work. Escalated to tier 2, ETA wait was 15 minutes, waited 40 then power went out.  Chat support no longer available after computer reboot.

Just finished with EA support chat... the guy said it was a known issue and they're working on it. No ETA on the fix... basically lead me to believe there was no solution at the present time but one *is* coming. I asked if people had been given codes from EA support, and if this (basically not giving out codes) was a recent change; to both he said yes.

If he is to be believed, I'm SOL for now, but I am curious to see if other people have more luck.

Previously invalid code they gave me has now become functional...I suggest anyone who was given a bad code in the past try it again.

Hey guys. I just got the steam copy of ME1, and I went to the BDtS link. The first two steps just link me to the BSN home page. If I just install it without giving them my ME code, will they charge me for it?
