I don't know if anyone has been keeping up to date with the Cerberus news network that pops up on the menu screen but over the past couple of weeks they've essentially recreated the Haiti incident but with a passing asteroid fking up some Hanar planet (either that or its a rather big coincedence). Anyway todays report kinda mocks the whole telethon that george clooney did in quite an amusing way and if you read it you'll know what i mean.

I'm not complaining though, i enjoy the stuff it adds i just thought this particular message was a little cynical but i still find most of the reports have quite a bit of humour in them (like the valentines day one)

Cerberus, Cynical? Now way, I dont believe it. A Radical Pro Human Terrorist group, nah cant be. -.-

But seriously, I find them pretty funny too, but cynicism should be expected.

I did find it satirical, however I have difficulty believing these updates are being written on the fly. If anything I would hope they were written months in advance of the game launching. I could be wrong but I'd be surprised.

As a RL fan of the New York Giants, I was pleased to see that on Super Bowl Sunday they had the Giants beating Beijing in SB 200 something.

At least it's giving us a few hints to for what to expect for ME3. New race of space chickens? Check.

Casey Hudson said that they would sort of mirror current events sometimes.

yea the whole hanar planet thing and now the telethon, also were reports of like food shortages and looting etc, it's definitely written on the fly and mimics current events, which i guess could be seen as quite controversial if mainstream media caught wind of it.

In which case how long do they plan to keep it updated? i mean its updated every day without fail at the moment but i guess it isn't hard to just assign 1 guy somewhere to write a 100 word report each day.

Crap, I didn't even notice that it actually updates daily, I never paid attention! Is there a thread anywhere that keeps track of every single message, maybe?

I've acutally rather enjoyed the Cerberus Network News post. I thought at first it would just be a gimmick, but it seems like they've acutally gotten some of the game writters to post this *news* articles about events in the ME Universe, and it's worked pretty well so far. As was mentioned, they've already hinted at a New Alien Race being introduced to the ME Saga, and I think for those that pay attention, like those who have read the Books, some really nice bits of Preview info on things to come will pop up from time to time. Well done.

Bookmarked. Image IPB

I really dig the News Network - all these small pieces coming through really flesh out the universe in a way that traditional fiction couldn't.

The Belan news stories remind me more of the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami than Haiti to be honest, although the timing is impeccable.

I'm actually hoping for a DLC mission relating to said tragedy, like perhaps a cargo escort mission with the Hammerhead or something.
