i just spent 250$ on rebuilding my computer and i am over the recomnended specs for ME2... when i open the launcer and hit play every button will work but play

i downloaded it agian and it did the same thing its the launcher play button i hit and dosnt work

AND I WAITED 40 MINS IN EA CHAT JUST FOR THEM TO TELL ME THERE ARE NO AGENTS AVALIBLE!!!!

Manual install? If you're getting it Direct Download and the Play button shows up, I wouldn't think manual install would be necessary?



At any rate, first thing I'd do is see if it's just the launcher by bypassing it. Look under Mass Effect 2\\Binaries wherever you installed it (C:\\Program Files\\Electronic Arts\\Mass Effect 2\\ by default) and double-click MassEffect2.exe. The game should launch immediately. If that works, just create your own shortcuts for MassEffect2.exe and the MassEffect2Config.exe.

it just says it was installed incorrectly and i have re installed like 3 times

Have you tried disabling all antivirus apps when installing the game?

What’s your OS? Vista may need logging in as the admin to install it properly.

IMO, Direct Download is too much of a hassle, stated by the Incorrect Installation issue.



If you have a friend that has the retail edition of the game you could borrow their discs and see if its your DD or your rig.

my os is xp.... just re formated so i dont have any anti virus and my firewall is down.... i am the only pc gamer in the city as it seems cuz everyone has ME2 for the 360... i did call EA and they game me a digital copy....

keep getting message that the launcher will not work for mass effect2 on windows 7. I tried the setup exe on the disk dircectly but nothing... The box says its compatible with windows 7... any ideas?
