In Shepard's death scene, when you save the Collector Base, you see quite a few Cerberus ships heading to investigate. Hmmm. Wonder just how many derelict Reapers with IFF cores there ARE out there. EMP disrupted the needed signature check?

Hmmm. Perhaps. The Reapers HAVE been doing this for generations. I'me sure there have been a few casualties.

The IFF was software. You downloaded it off a research console and uploaded it to an EDI still shackled by Cerberus protocols. She transmitted the IFF while it was installed on Normandy (and yes you install software. I install software all the time. I even get a little window that says: installing software)

Yarr. Unfortunately, what that cutscene didn't show you was the 4 other cruisers that were still Windows Vista based and were instantly torn apart by the galactic core with the loss of all hands. And other parts.
