Does Shredder Ammo give bonuses to not only the Health of Organics but also their Defences?

If so this might actually be amazing.

Shredder is the worst.. over all (if on any difficulty above normal).. Shredder ammo is good on normal play because very few have armor and shields.  But in Hardcore and insanity, Shredder is not as effective as more enemies have more then just health.

But even then, Shredder is out classed by AP due to Shredder only giving an extra 10% to organic targets only, while AP does damage to all red bars.  But then you can debate what % of enemies are NOT organic.. more then 10%?

Warp ammo, 50% to barrier, armor & health (any)
Incendiary Ammo, 60% to armor and health (organic - but causes panic)
Disruptor, 60% to shields and health ("synthetic" targets only). All weapons disabled for 6 seconds.
AP ammo, 70% to armor and health (any)
Shredder ammo, 80% to health ("organic" targets only)

I had Thane with Shredder ammo in hardcore and had no problem with collector's armors. Melt them with warp and Thane does the rest. Dont expect everyone to be 1man army if it is hardcore or insanity. U need to balance Ur team in the way U consider them to act, then every skill is just fine as it used to be.

I can fart on enemies who have their health bar exposed and kill them so I never saw the point, although shredder ammo is obviously very useful in ME 1

Its not completely useless on Thane. With shredder ammo it pretty much guarantees Thane is going to eliminate any targets at health.

Shredder ammo as a bonus talent on the other hand is a wasted slot.
