That's your issue right there. Remember that to the dwarves, they are normal sized and everyone else is freakishly tall. Even Oghren asks Alistair what he does with the female PC's legs (if Alistair is in a romance) because there's so much of it in the way.but somehow I just see my PC as a little dude/dudet scurrying around normal sized people
Forget about the vertical height for a moment. Look at the horizontal instead. The dwarves are huge and bulky. They look like football players or weight lifters. The humans males are just average and the elvin males look like twigs that can snap in half. Compared to the other two races, the dwarven males are teeming with testosterone. The dwarven females are curvy and voluptuous compared to the other ladies.
Don't get hung up on length when it's all about the girth.

I agree... they don't have beards, which makes them very hardly playable. And I am serious here.Nobody Important wrote...
Dwarves are very easy to play as comfortably. The only race that sucks to play as in games is elves.
As for playing a dwarf. Well, suffice to say you actually become quite a someone in the end, which is why I like being dwarves.

Also: they're not actually that short: I reach Alistair's shoulder on my Aeducan, so I'm guessing that puts her at 5'0, 5'2ish? I know Elves are shorter too, but eh. People like what they like. I am a shortarse in real life (5'4" in my heels) so it's nice to beat things up in a videogame with a sexy dwarf mama and live vicariously for a moment.
Man, dwarf hate always makes me want to start a nice SHUT UP WE'RE AWESOME thread. I never get it...

I'm waiting for Wishpig to enter and post here. Probably the biggest fan of dwarves on the forums. Either that or the biggest elf hater.
Both
But I can fully understand not being able to RP one, as I can't RP an elf. If you don't like the look, the background, or other features of the race of course it will be hard to RP as one, and rather then force it, just play something else.

they are pretty much midgets with monkey arms.
But I'd take monkey arms over that wierd neck thing the elves got going on...

Ha thanks Gilsa I'm starting to like my casteless rogue now that he has momentum and hits hard and fast w/ dual daggers. One tough sob. Maybe I'll have to restart though since the dwarven build constitutes more of a warrior.... lol j/k.

Yeah I can't play a male elf either haha looks too kiddish... but I did manage to finish the game with a female dalish rogue archer. Was actually an enjoyable playthrough.
