Why is it so hard for me to RP a dwarf?

And yes, I was wondering that myself.

I think the main problem is that obviously, humans, I can identify with. Elves are like humans, but lithe and with air of mystery and magic and tend to be exceptionally attractive so... yeah, that's easy to get into. Dwarves are violent, hairy midgets and while that's always awesome I rarely want to BE that guy. That's why I love the more political aspect of dwarves in Thedas.

Elves are my fave though. Played thorugh an elf on first play through. Now playing a male dwarf noble who does all the evil things I didn't want to do with my elf. For some reason I find it easier doing evil things as a dwarf. It's kind of weird romancing a human as a dwarf though, he just loves them and leaves them.
But I have to say male dwarves are quite ugly and look really weird without a beard. I don't like much facial hair on men, a bit of stubble is ok. But dwarves need to have a beard, which I don't like but they look even worse without one.

That's exactly the experience I'm having! I could never get into the evil side of this game until I started playing a Dwarf. It just seemed more natural for that character.

Having said that, it was easier for me to play as a castless. When you play as a noble, you're supposed to be this great warrior, Lord Aeducan, etc. Then you wander into a human town, and everyone's like two heads taller then you. Ugh!
I also can't play as a male elf. Now matter how hard you try, they look like wimpy human teenagers.

Also about the evil thing, I found being evil would be far more natural to an elf. Elves are the ones who're practically enslaved, why should they go out of their way for anyone else?

Dwarf warrior looks good, being armoured to the teeth makes it look like a highly concentrated form of badass.

This has bugged me as well. Your elf, whether Dalish or from an Alienage, has dialogue choices to support a route where you develop your character's hatred towards humans. This completely evaporates after the events at Ostagar. You would think with all the humans you meet and see, you'd get to hammer out some elven justice.
