It would be awesome, but I don't think Bioware could pull it off, that would be way too complex and complicated

That would be too much time and lines to voice common first names.

Mine is called Kader, to uncommon to be included in the game, but hell, if it wasn't for the savegames I wouldn't know what he is called

At my school, there's loads of people called Tom, so we use their last names instead. I have the default name John, which is pretty common, so the same thing happened with him.

Personally, I would rather see that time and money spent doing any number of other things to improve the game. Those who pick non-standard first names miss out, and it would feel out of place with the way it was done in the other two games.

Me too.  I find it sort of sweet that my love interest calls me by my last name.

My teacher in high school, everybody called by his last name. Seriously i don't even know his first name. Some people are just like that, its most common among soldiers and agents (in fiction at least).

One of my best friends back in high school only went by his last name to everyone also. It isn't that uncommon.

And besides I thought Shepard's first name was Commander.

way too much work.... not only that, but why have them put time/money into something so needless when they could be spending that time/money in something that's truly bad ass
