Dumbification of Mass effect 2.

Wow... I can't even begin to describe just how stupid this is. A guy comes in and complains about how unrealistic a video game is, one that let's note he doesn't even have registered to him. Then he calls anyone who doesn't agree with him wholeheartedly a poser for saying they played the first game and only acknowledges the one person who said they never looked as having had played the first game.
Let's also take note of a few other facts:
1. We're assuming he remembers everything from high school physics.
2. You on average walk around with around the atmospheric pressure of a motorcycle on your head, if I drop a motorcycle on you it would kill you regardless.
3. We don't know whether Biotics are a distributive force or a pinpoint force. Considering the fact that they get dragged/shoved from where they're hit I'm willing to bet it's pinpoint in which case some serious damage could be applied.
4. Eezo is the Mass Effect equivalent of "A wizard did it" to apply real world laws to this would be like debating Mass Effect fields because tachyon particles haven't been proven to exist at a larger then subatomic scale.
5. It's a video game.
P.S. to OP, I've beaten ME1 seven times and I know that the numbers in ME2 are comparable to those in ME1.

I was with you up until the FPS stuff. I really liked where you were going with the math and science but then you threw in that FPS shooter stuff? I don't really see the connection.
OP's grasp of physics isn't even adequate for a high-school level introductory class.
800+660=1460.
lol u guys can just keep on hating. It are ppl like you who regularly destroy the RPG market and niche markets for games..
nice work.... <_<

Really? I thought it was people who make up words like 'dumbification' and use phrases like 'keep on hating'. Just throwing it out there.

But that's where the biggest two flaws come in. Your guns become the most important thing, no matter what class you are, and that sucks when you're really wanting to throw enemies about everywhere like the first time around. Also, why does one power make all the rest need to cool down? Especially if it's a biotic power used, and a tech power you can't use. I could understand biotics needing to wait for the user's energy to recharge, and tech powers heating up the omni-tool so that it has to cool down, but why would ALL powers instantly need a cool-down? Senselesss
The second thing that bothered me is all the "choices." Most of them were trivial, half the dialogue lines came out of nowhere, and a good five percent seemed to have the opposite alignment of what I was trying to say. I couldn't choose to bring up what it was like being dead, how much I really hated TIM, how much I thought I should return to the alliance since he killed Kahoku. Conrad was always rouge, as well. The council isn't really important, whether or not you saved them. You get a few switched lines on the citadel, and that's it. And the ending choice?
Okay. So I know TIM isn't exactly the most trustworthy guy. But the only reason I could see for NOT saving the Collector station is the fact that it may have indoctrination technology integrated into it. Otherwise, as soon as the Reapers are beat, go and blow it up so TIM can't use it for evil. We fought through hundreds of Collectors. Why couldn't we do so with a bunch of Cerberus operatives? Besides, you have Miranda on your side, who can simply tell you where TIM is (because, she's WITH him in the very opening) so you can go and threaten/kick his sorry butt.
It doesn't make sense how keeping the station is strictly evil. Although I don't agree with the exact reasons as to why this game has been dumbed down, it certainly was, and it became a huge disappointment if you ask me. I'd still give it maybe a 7, out of 10, but compared to the first Mass Effect, it's terrible. After all, when have you ever read a good book, or seen a good movie in a sci-fi universe that is 80% character development, and 20% storyline?
I don't think I have. :/

Exactly. ME1 was a TRUE sci-fi RPG. ME2 was dumbed down ****.
So Halo became less of a shooter in Halo 3?

Wrong comparison son. You can't compare a sequel who stayed in the same path of the original game to another sequel who went into a wrong different path than the original.

I agree that it doesn't make sense for you to launch a security mech into orbit by hitting it with 800 newtons of force, but I also accept that this is a piece of Science Fiction. I assume those numbers are really only there to let you compare the potency of multiple powers anyway.

For example, in level IV biotic power Charge it says the action produces a force of "800 newtons". Except this is equilent to a force of 80 Kg (a man with the mass of 70 Kg will experience a pull force of almost 700 newtons due to gravity every day). A good punch from a normal guy can produce the force of 400 Kg.
oh god, you got me laughing so hard im gonna cry.
