No, the only dwarf character i ever liked was Kelgar, from NWN2.

I'm excited for new companions. I can't wait to see the Dwarven girl and the Elven lass. Even Anders seem to be a cool guy. And I like Oghren as much as any of the other companions. The only companion I didn't like was Dog.

I will miss my dog,. Alistair and Wynne most of all. I dont even know if I will play awakening because of this.

Eh, Ohgren's okay, he has some funny banter with some of the other characters, I haven't really bothered to go the extra mile to raise his approval though. I'll try that next game.



I'd probably rank the characters from favorite to least favorite like this:



Morrigan

Alistair

Dog

Leliana

Wynne

Ohgren

Zevran

Sten

In terms of marketing and communications, and old favorite is supposed to mean "A character from Origins that could join your party if you wished them to."



Now how 'bout we move on to a more original topic, like how there's no romances in Awakening and that makes my feelings hurt.

for me, oghren is there for the laughs, but other than that, I would prefer some other characters over him.

Shame its not Sten Or Leliana though. But Oghren will do.

He was "an old returning favorite" of the Awakening team....plus because alot of folks tend to do Orzammer last,  I guess they figure he didn't get enough playtime.

I've tried to get him earlier...to see if I can change my opinion of him..have done his personal quest,  which was as short and as shallow as he is...hehe

And he's STILL not impressing me.

I may be blind, but I haven't seen ONE dialogue with Oghren where he vomited. Laughed with the sounds of vomits perhaps, but not vomit.

I see your "short and shallow" Oghren and put this statement in direct opposition to yours:
Alistair is less short but more shallow.

Though you have to really go out of your way and try very hard to get his approval down. If you then are one companion short that can be called karmic justice

No you can't officially. Even if you kill him his epilouge treats it as if he were still alive. So if you somehow waste all your time going as far out of your way as possible to beat him... it counts for squat when it's all said and done.

I think at one point it was easier to kill him, but knowing they would bring him back in awakening, they made in nigh impossible and never progamed the game to register it if you did kill him.

He's hardly an Old favorite, in my personal view they worded it poorly. They could have said An Old Favorite is returning and picked, Sten. They claimed it was Their Favorite, not yours though I assumed they would go off the fans most favorite since they make up the bulk of sales in buying the game

Honestly, I would rather have a new companion then him. Somehow I get the feeling he is going turn into a Grey Warden, and you will extend his storyline. When honestly I had my fill of him in Orgin's. He's not flawed, though I would perfer someone more interesting

I'm glad Oggy's returning. he was one of my favorites. Though I think he will be a little lost without his BFF Zevran. They had some serious bromance going.

i liked oghren i thought he was a tough lil guy who could hold his own though i would rather have allistar sadly in most of my end games he is the king

I'm fine with Oghren being the returning character (though I personally think Dog would have been a far better candidate) as long as they drop the cringeworthy attempts at humor.



Though if Anders' introduction video is any indication; that will probably won't happen. *sigh*

Drop the burping/belching..and the leering..and I "might" be able to tolerate him. I dunno if I want to drag him around for the whole expansion though, if there's a way to leave him in camp..thats whats going to happen. Would have preferred Sten..much more interesting character.

Maybe they've got more of Oghren's story left to tell. Let the writers write, and trust them.
