Do I need to do the Slim Coudry Quests to get the Traveler Achievement?

If so, how do I get him to show up. I have a mage and I did put 2 points into the Trap Making skill. But he's not showing up in the Denerim Market.

1) I know for a fact you do not have to. On my first game as a DW Warrior I didn't even know he existed and I got the achievement.
2) To get him to appear you must have at least 1 rank of the stealing skill on your main character.

Or Stealth.

You dont have to, but you get a lot of Xp and Gold. You just need 1 point in stealing and someone in your party to have stealth, and mention the first time you talk to him that you are into stealing and sneaking.

Or try using Leliana to pickpocket a bit. Might trigger him as well.
