For me, Zaeed just saved Mass Effect 2 from a total and epic fail. Of all the squadmates, Zaeed has boots that look like they are up to a rough terrain.

I like the picture. ITs really good. Zaeed on the other hand not so much. Grunt is better then him so there is no real need for him. He also doesn't have a story or anything I feel like they decided to throw him in last second.

I thought he was a cool character, but nowhere near fleshed out enough.

I find his final sentence about Reapers and Collecters being way out of his pay grade to be very true and fighting land wars for pay really is small time compared some of the rest of the team's history

Jacob & Miranda/Saved intergalactic council (and have their own game)

Tali & Garrus/Helped kill Saren

Jack/Only one that scares crazies in an asylum of a prison

Mordin/Removed an intergalactic threat

Samara/Thane/Grunt/Legion might be in Zaeed's league as we don't know the major things they have done

Samara once took out an entire village. And fought a spectre.

1) If you say Zaeed is not "fleshed out" or "is a d*ck", go back and talk to him. Listen to everyone of his conversations. THEN you have the right to pass judgments. If you still think he is a d*ck, it's your call; but the only reason why you're calling such a well-developed character not "fleshed out" is because you're too lazy to interact with him.

2) Zaeed actually has more "interactions" with you than almost any other character in the game, if you bothered going down and talk to him and taking him on missions. If you choose to ignore this because you're so narcissistic you can't listen to his stories without talking back, at least have the decency to hold your judgment and steering away from hate threads like this.

I'm not sure if that was aimed at me or what, but I'm half guessing so since I used the phrase "fleshed out" like three posts above yours. Just to clarify - I didn't mean that Zaeed isn't a fleshed out character. I listened to every single thing he had to say, and went back for more besides after he started looping, just on the offchance there was something new. I meant that Bioware's implementation of the DLC wasn't fleshed out. I do believe they took the easy, lazy way out in terms of integrating him with the game, but I have nothing but praise for the character.

Well I was actually going to say "no offense to Stoko981" and then I forgot. No my post wasn't aiming at you in a negative way, and I thought your post was quite to the point, if somewhat speculative. I was referring to many haters who claim Zaeed is not "fleshed out" because he doesn't have a story to tell, when he actually has more stories than any other teammate.

I think Bioware simply didn't have the resources to implement him properly and did the best they could with the character with the time and budget restraints. Or maybe Robin Sachs simply did too awsome a job and ended up being overused. I guess we'll never know until some1 from Bioware decided to comment on it.

as a Renegade player, Zaeed is one of my fav squaddies. In the first ME1 I always felt like a mercenary for hire, getting paid to kill people and do sh*t and whatnot, so when Zaeed came along my Shep gravitated mostly towards him.

Come on, he's voiced by That Guy! You know, from That Show/Movie! (He sounds so familiar, and I can't place him. Drives me nuts.)

Edit : Finally google'd him. Robin Sachs. I remember him because he played several Minbari in Babylon 5.

That said, as for him being worthless, eh, not really. Squad Disrupter Ammo is absolutely your friend on Geth missions, and he's got an AR/Sniper loadout. Pretty solid dude to take along, in my opinion. Also, he adds lots of "hold the line" points to the final mission, so he keeps Mordin from dying.

Bring him with you on Horizon and you'll notice he's not all that unfeeling.

As mentioned he has quite a bit of in-game comments, just not much talk-wheel stuff.

He was one of my favourite characters, although he could still have some more development.

He's a dark hearted bugger, not totally black hearted, he does get ahead of himself on his loyalty mission, as his need for revenge suddenly goes up to 11, but there are plenty of moments when he comments on how some people do way worse crap than even he'd want to stomach, for instance, when Vido starts hiring batarians, Zaaed's response "g---damn terrorists." He's not big on kids being harmed or used, and pretty much all of his jobs are usually hunting other mercs, pirates, or slavers. He's a grim character, sorta like when Bad meets Evil. He just happens to be Bad-ASS.

Everybody has at least one character whose personality grates on them
For me it is Kelly. For many it is Miranda or Zaeed.
Makes it more realistic, I suppose. There's always that annoying bastard....

Zaeed's probably my favorite. I knew he was cockney, he reminds me of Mandalore when he was Canderous. But I do enjoy his company, he's awesome.

Zaeed has the some of the best comments during your missions. I also like the fact that you dont "have" to interact with him. And thats the point, he's more walk and less talk. Badasses dont converse. Not to mention he has the best breather mask and useful talents.

I like to click on his items or on him in the cargo hold if Im eating a snack, taking a break from Mass Effecting it. I also like when you tells you how you can pull armor/shell off a krogan's head with a knife.

Sorry for resurrecting this old thread, but I wanted to say that after playing through as Renegade, and taking Zaeed with me on most of the missions, I have to say that he has grown on me.
Thus, I take back all of the mean things I said about him previously.
They should have given him some dialogue tree. Good guy.
