I would just like some clarification on exactly what happens mechanically with importing Shepard and what comes with it. I have completed 2 Playthroughs with the same character on Regular difficulty. I managed to be just shy of Level 60 (I need about 30000 more). I'm thinking about just starting one more time and getting to 60 and THEN importing to ME2 as soon as I get there.
1) Do I need to have a completed playthrough to get the level 60 bonuses?
2) Will the game leave the story related details the way they had been on my previous playthrough if I don't complete the 3rd one? For clarification, see below. That's how I would like to keep my file for when I start ME2 with an imported Shepard.

EDIT: Sorry, didn't mean to hijack your thread, amigo. I'm curious how the Save Game Transfer process works, though, as well. Hopefully they can divulge more information regarding exactly how it works so that we, the players, can better plan.

you import the autosave at the end of the game. you need to finish at level 60 to get the bonuses. after that you can choose your first playthrough, your 59 or 60, each with their own decisions importing independent of the others
