This particular line though felt stereotypical and tacted on. Do you think Bioware was afraid we'd forget Jacob is black?

No. Jacob would be my bro regardless of skin-colour.
I think it's good that some colloquialisms and foibles exist into 2185.
Who knows, maybe he'll find some nice asari chick to scrog.

You're phonetic spelling is hilarious, though.
EDIT: I'm beginning to hate this "scrog" word.

The bro hug was especially akward.

Did the game replace your Jacob with Elmer Fudd?

Did anyone else find this scene a bit akward? Jacob came across as a cool, level headed, intelligent character.

Get tired of your other thread? This one's not going to be as much fun, you know.

No, it was nice to know that I could have a down-to-earth everyman on my crew.Borschtbeet wrote...

really, why is it bad or racist to drink alcohol? is it the wording you don't like? i have issue with numerous dialogue scenes and lines but this is not offensive or even contradictory to the character.
It wasn't the alcohol, it's just the delivery felt a bit homeyish. Like all of the sudden I was more than just his commander, I was his 'bro' and "homey".

They seem kinda related. They're complaints about characters that have been circulated a dozen times before. Both made by you.
The only thing I didn't like about Jacob's last line of dialogue is the subsequent inability to actually get wild and spill some drinks with him.

Its one of the main things that annoys me about Jacob, he's a great character and a positive black one as well... then suddenly that one line tarnished him.
It's not the mid-90s in America anymore.

It's the final casual dialogue line. He repeats it ad infinitum every time Shepard asks.BillyCapron wrote...

It's pretty much his conversation endpoint. The equivalent of Garrus calibrating weapos, Tali cleaning engines, or Miranda doing some "work" -- what work?!

Ahh, so that's why Kelly gets so jealous of Miranda.
Because Miranda gets to sit, while Kelly has to make do with standing.

Well sorry if I don't keep constant surveillance on this forum to make sure that my topic hasn't been covered before. Besides, it's not as if it hurts to elaborate on it further.
