Oghren is the returning party member. If Alistair survived your game and depending on your choices he gets a cameo though.

Thanks for taking the words right out of my mouth. I used Alistair far more than Ogrhen.

I take it you do not like their decision. It could be worse, he could not of shown up at all.

Only one out of something like thirty decisions has Alistar anywhere near being with you in the end, every other one of those choices leaves him on the throne, dead, or a drunk, its the same with Leliana, and Zevran, Morrigan is gone no matter what you do so eh.

Why should Bioware plug in thousands of dollars bringing Alistar, Zevran and Leliana back as companions for that very small percent that had them as travelling companions in the end, when it is much easier and cost effective to instead make them appear at Amarinthene as your second in command who keeps you informed and talks to you romantically, or will be off trying to find recruits for you in their native lands.

And no, if Alistar is on the throne he can't be a companion, he is the king, he needs to be at Denerim to keep the country from falling apart, no Morrigan can't come with you, she's either pregnant, has a kid, or hates your guts, why is this so hard for people to understand.

It's not hard to understand you are missing the point. I have no problem with Alistair not being in the party, I just hope they bridge the story between Origins and Awakening, especially if you were to marry him or Anora. I Personally never used Oghren other than to hear his funny conversations. I would rather the dog return. At least I used him. I am concerned about how well this will flow from Origins. Will my decisions at the end not matter anymore? And as much money as they make with these games I don't think thousands would hurt to please your fanbase anyway.  Lets see, 50 for the game and all of the download content, then 40 for this expansion. Quite a bit! If this game is just 20 hours of killing darkspawn and nothing else, it isn't worth the money for me. Of course this is my just my opinion. Everyone else can form their own, and I won't critisize them for it.

is understandable that allistar can not join us, but twaht happen to Leliana or zevran them in some possible endings  they stay with your character,

and so far we have not received news on possible cameos from them, which disappoints me a lot, especially with leliana and those promises of travel together in search of treasures. why bioware why?

I love Alistair, I've played through twice and could not resist romancing him both times... Hell, even my husband is jealous. But- I am happy to see him as a cameo, he is now the king, the questgiver and I think that is a good place for him to be.

^but he's not King in my game. He's SUPPOSED to be rebuilding the wardens with me. Which is especially ironic. >_>

Thats exactly what I mean. That is why I'm concerned. Now how I chose to end Origins doesn't matter. That stinks in my opinion.

Also Alistair's voice actor is probably one of the more expensive cast members.

Yes he does have a good voice. But still, they can pay him a ton of money for his voice for Warden's Keep, Stone Prisoner and Return to Ostagar (which cost around 5 bucks) but not a 40 dollar expansion? Just hoping the story flows, thats all. Got some explaining to do if you run off to rebuild the wardens together at the end of Origins, but he isn't with you in Awakening! Thats all I'm saying.

There is a difference in amount of dialog between 3 banter lines and a full expansion.

He has about 3 lines in Warden's keep, maybe 2 more in Stone Prisoner. Return to Ostagar was probably more like a dozen lines, to be generous. And they ARE including him in Awakening, as a pretty major NPC (if he's alive or the King anyway) so I'm sure he'll have perhaps a dozen or more lines in the game.

But hiring him on for another full game would probably obliterate the budget. He's not Tom Cruise or anything, but he's a working actor who's appeared in some major films. Not to disparage the majority of voice actors, but he's a cut above most.

This is true, and again I will say that I am personally ok with him not being playable. I just want the story to go well and it doesn't look promising. It's taking some fun out of the original game if the way you ended it doesn't matter. I already bought Awakening, so I'm going to play it. But all I'm saying is that I'm disapointed with some of things I'm hearing. Maybe I'm wrong, I sure hope I am, but it's not looking good to me. There are unique things about Dragon Age that make it loads of fun for me. I've hardly played anything else since it's release, and thats saying alot.
If they take out these things, I will be very disapointed.

You know Rivehn I thought I read that too. I guess that is one of the reasons I am disapointed.

No.

There is a thread that says that we should be able to do it.

No I think I read this a long time ago. Obviously it wasn't a reliable source. That is why I was disapointed when I heard about Oghren.
