It is like a new game at least from what I am reading about. Why would I want to import the character that I made queen (princess-consort without the mods) if that isn't going to be recognized in awakening? I am just not happy with some of the things that I am hearing about this expansion. Dead wardens brought back to life, no DLC. Come on people! This is their own official content! Not some mod made by a guy with nothing better to do.

And no, if Alistar is on the throne he can't be a companion, he is the king, he needs to be at Denerim to keep the country from falling apart

why if Alistar is on the throne he can't be a compagnion ? i dont understand...in my game he is the king im his wife and we left Denerim for a long travel for going back after....plus he leave Denerim again cause he was called to go to Weisshaupt..so if he have the time for travel.. why he can't have the time to leave Denerim some time for killing stuff and going back after that ?

And Cailen fought beside his men.......Kings often accompany their troops. Regardless if he isn't coming at least it better acknowledge my pc being Queen. Then I'm happy.

*facepalm*

Ok.

If he is the king, he needs to stay in Denerim, yes, he can leave for a month or two to go bury his dead mentor, but he can't really get up and tell everyone he doesn't want to be king anymore, to bad for them, he is going to be an hero again, especially since it takes a LONG TIME to get around Ferelden, example of this, DA:O took "just over a year" from the fight at Ostagar to the battle at Denerim, most of which was just walking around, most likely Awakening will take about the same amount of time, and a king can not just drop his duties for a whole year, especially not to go into battles which could very well mean death to him, health kits were added for a reason.

If he stays with the Wardens, and Anora rules the nation, then he will most likely be at Amarinthene training the new Wardens you send him, and making sure it doesn't fall to attack of any sort. Yes its a contrived reason why he can't come with, but DA:A was not exactly made on the largest of budgets thanks to ME2 and KotOR, so just be glad you can talk to him still honestly.

If he is a drunk or dead, you won't see him at all most likely, because he's either dead, or wants nothing to do with you anymore, not exactly a difficult thing to figure out.

And why would he not recognize you as the Queen?

Honestly, these forums are making me stupid, why do people suddenly think Bioware is going backwards 5-8 years on RPG evolution because of one very vague quote that can mean any number of things, Bioware said you can't transfer a save, suddenly we don't have NPCs that ask you what you did in the previous games? Bioware says most of the old team won't join you but will be cameos, and everyone thinks it means we won't see any of them again, and if we do they won't know who we are?

Since when has Bioware ever ****ed up that badly?

Arghhh.... I can't take it anymore. The endless whining and complaining, thread after thread, issue after issue.... It just never stops.

BioWare has said you can import your saved games.

They don't have NPCs that ask you 'what you did' because the only way for you to have done it would be for you to import a saved game. If you don't import a saved game, then you play as the Orlesian Warden who didn't do anything in the first game.

I don't get the point of complaining about people complaining. *shrugs* I also have a feeling that a lot of these people are new to rpgs or bioware games in general.

There is nothing wrong with people addressing issues that they have with what they've heard. Bio ware does respond to them, and has said that they listen. So if no one speaks their minds, they don't create the game that people want to see. If you don't like someone's opinion thats fine. I get tired of the insulting that is going on in some of these forums. We all like this game obviously and all have our own opinions and are entitled to them. If one doesn't like it then one should just not join in the discussion.

Thanks for taking the words right out of my mouth. I used Alistair far more than Ogrhen.

I took Alistair with me everywhere I went. Not only because my girl was romancing him, but because I wasn't about to be the ONLY Grey Warden out there fighting all those darkspawn. :)

He's not king in my Dalish Elf game either, I had him run off with her to the Grey Wardens. I'm just wondering why it is he's not helping rebuild and command them.

I mean Howe. I hate killing Alistair! I almost cried. I also almost cried the first time I killed Loghain, however. I guess I'm just a freak.

I killed Alistair once and couldn't bring myself to keep the ending. Mostly because he was in a relationship with my girl and his final decision to do so was to save her. :( I felt so bad about that. So, there I went, reloading and accepting Morrigan's ritual - which made me sick to my stomach to watch her with him. Blech.

Also Alistair's voice actor is probably one of the more expensive cast members.

But he's doing it for the cameos, and I believe I heard he's also voicing another of the main characters. I doubt that's the reason.

I know he's doing a cameo for Alistair... I hadn't heard about him playing another character. It's not Anders is it? Sheesh.

Anders and Alistair do look a lot alike, so who knows. I personally would love to hear Steve Valentine's voice in theis game too. I love that guy! Posted Image

Oghren and Morrigan are the only characters you can't kill. Morrigan leaves. Oghren is the only possible person you can use as a party member in Awakening.

Some people have said you can kill Oghren in the Deep Roads while facing Branka. But Iam not entirely sure how.
So I think Oghren is killable as well.

He stands up to you a little when you choose to kill Branka. But I always max out my coercion and cunning skills so I can talk people into anything. I can't remember entirely, but maybe if you can't persuade him to accept your decision he may turn against you and you have to kill him. Then again, maybe not, since he IS in Awakening. Puzzle.

I'm sick of cameos. Kaidan's cameo. Alistair's cameo. I don't need them in my party all the time, but I want to be able to go and talk to them whenever I want. A kiss doesn't require a new voiceover.

My strategy guide says he is killable. Have never done it myself. However my strategy guide also says you can ask Alistair to marry you prior to the landsmeet, and I have yet to figure out how. It lies.

Can you somehow ask Alistair to marry you before the Landsmeet? I wondered about that in my first playthrough, because when you go to Denerim and find out that the Chantry is closed because of so many funerals, the Templars tell you that you'll have to hold off on wedding and funeral plans until these are completed. When that happened I thought it would be cool if you could marry your character to their love somehow. I've never had the Chantry be anything but closed, however, so no marriage here. But I would love it to be the case somehow.

*Orlesian Warden heads torwards Ferleden meets up with an annoying bard*

Bard "Wow! Your that Gray Warden from Orlais, aren't you aren't you! Do you really know what your getting in to by coming here?"

1. Yes, a Warden has been made King, and I come to find out what happened, and rebuild our order here.

2. Yes, Anora still rules

3. Yes, Anora rules with her new husband Alistar, who was apparently Cailans brother.

4. No, why don't you tell me ( Default )

Bard "Huh, you know that huh?! Well, why don't you tell me what happened to the Arls of Redcliffes family, I bet an Orlesian like you would never know about something like that"

1. They are all safe and alive

2. The boy is dead

3. Isolde is dead

4. Your right, I don't know, but tell me more

Etc, I honestly could keep coming up with more examples of this.

Considering what I just said up there has been a basic start for a sequel/expansion pack in almost EVERY SINGLE BIOWARE GAME I CAN THINK OF SINCE BALDURS GATE, I see no reason why everyone suddenly has a stick up their ass and doesn't want to believe it won't be brought over to DA:A, since if I had to guess the main reason UC saves can't be imported is because of the fact they are allowing some people to bring back their character.

You claimed save games don't transfer - they do.

You claimed that you'd be able to tell an NPC about you did previously - you can't. That's what the import save function is for. They don’t need to put in an NPC because all the information in on the save game you’ve imported.

You claim that "EVERY SINGLE BIOWARE GAME I CAN THINK OF SINCE BALDURS GATE" has started withwith questions about what happened in the previous game. There's only one game that's included that element - ME 2. Once you import a save though, people will make references to what you did previously.

Yes but like it or not he is a big part of the game. I'm just saying that this doesn't sound like it will flow well from Origins. And I think that sucks. Heck I would have rather they brought back Sten!
