Sort of the same for me. I have a habit of making the same decisions over and over again with my main Sheps (male and female), and have only recently started a Shep that falls more along the "Paragade" lines.

I tend to have a more renegade approach to everything, but I personally don't enjoy playing carbon copies of the same character over and over again. Each class I make is its own character and abides by their own principals. For instance I play my soldier as a military man, doing things the military way. My Infiltrator on the other hand is a Paragon with a bit of a Xenophobia about him - so when dealing with aliens I may be much less likely to do the 'right' thing.

Gotta keep the flavour alive...though there are certain situations I do generally favour, but I try and focus each character on different paths.

Heh, same here. Renegade, it's not for me. 100% Paragon ( although I couldn't resist headbutting that Krogan and there are a few Renegade points I still don't know from where I got them. ).

Third playthrough at the moment with a Sentinel. So far a very safe class, but not nearly as exciting as a Vanguard or versatile as Soldier. But I still got to get Warp, Overload and an Assault Rifle. ^^

I've also import the same character several times. However, I alternate my choices:

1st (just for fun): Genophage data held onto, Geth re-written, base saved.

2nd: Genophage cured, Geth re-written, base saved.

3rd: Ultimate Paragon playthrough. Will be the one I import first.

etc.

My first play through as a Soldier wound up being more neutral since I picked the dialog option that fit me best.

My second play through I was full paragon Sentinel.

I can't seem to get myself to play as a full renegade.

I have a lot of fun doing the exact opposite of the playthrough I just finished (I'm on my 6th now), with slight differences.

I don't intend to bring every save over to ME3, just when I've seen all the direct consequences to my choices I can do one playthrough (most likely an NG+) that I'll import into ME3, much like I did with ME1 (12 playthroughs). The only one thing I can't seem to be able to do is play a male. I'mma try again though!

However... I *do* understand the OP. It takes a lot out of me to 'encourage' the guard beating up the prisoner in Purgatory, as well as leaving people to die on Zaeed's loyalty mission. Though I have no trouble at all with cutting Jacob off and being harsh on him, and no issues with being a bit more paragon with Jack (it's easy for me to be hard with her, she seems to be a little masochistic anyway so it's doing her a favor in the end ;p), I'm having a lot of trouble being 'renegade' with my squadmates in general. Actually *doing* it, just to see what happens can be rather rewarding however, simply because it broadens the scope of the characters.

In that regard, I can really encourage the OP to explore a little more. Even if it's just saving just before a conversation or choice, see what happens if you do the opposite of what you'd normally do, and if you don't like it, reload your save.

After all, though BioWare tries to make their games very 'life like', it's still a game, and choices aren't actually set in stone due to the ability to go back in time and load a former save.

Have fun :)

I do the same thing as the OP (especially always romance Tali Image IPB)... cause to me, I play doing what I would do in that situation. So I always play the same way, making the same choice, making my own canon. It makes it feel more like my own story. And it never gets old, cause Bioware is just awesome like that

Exactly the same here. I always go with slightly corrupted Paragon (a couple of Renegade interrupts, and certain other situations where I had to be Renegade). I've tried going full out pure Renegade, but I can't do it. It's funny, but I just lose interest.

try and create completely different faces for your new characters. I couldnt play with a character with the same face the same way. Changes up the feel. My renegade characters usually are bald or have douchebag facial hair.

Right, I have a question. I finished my main playthrough with my favourite Shepard doing every side mission and getting every upgrade. I finished the suicide mission with no deaths and its practically the perfect playthrough to carry on... except I romanced Jack and regretted doing so. If I take my guy through the game once again and do everything the same but this time stay faithful, will that be the save that registers when I finally import to ME3?

So I've gone through ME2 four times already, but each time I've played it exactly the same. I import the same level 60 male paragon, and make all the same major decisions each time. I always blow up the Collector base. I always romance Tali, I always save everyone. So far the only thing I've done differently each time is pick a different class. I've tried on a couple occasions to try playing a female or renegade character, but I always quickly lose interest and start playing as Sean Shepard again. Does anyone else have this problem, or am I just weird?

That exact thing has happened to me twice now...

I feel you... the same with me... the only way I have played a completely different way is trying to test out this whole Mordin dies regardless if he is loyal issue that people have been having. It has really made me curious. So far it has not happened where Mordin dies in any of my playthroughs. I want to see MORDIN DIE!!! I have done different love interests. Going after Tali after conquering Miranda and Jack B)

Im actually gonna replay without any LIs in ME2. I want my LI from ME1 to carry over to ME3 instead.

Vanguard is a thrill, other classes are just so slowed paced

I only get like that when i feel like i've made a mistake in a playthrough. I always
feel as if i haveto correct the mistake on the character straight away.

My second playthrough was different, but only insomuch that I didn't get 4 people killed :-(

Doesn't matter how many times I replay and do the suicide mission right, I can't help but feel my "authentic" playthrough has Tali, my LI, dead along with 3 others...
