ME3 game mechanics wishlist

Armor: I liked how much simpler/streamlined the armor was vs ME1 however I would like to see more options. With the exception of the N7 armor everything else is fixed. For example if the Cerebus armor is supposed to be 'shock' armor. How about some chest/leg/arm options that allow me custumize 'shield shock' vs 'armor shock' or 'weapon shock'. I would like to see some armor usefull in certain levels. Also something like inferno armor (which implies high heat/radiation resistance) could have made you immune to the sun effects on Tali's recruit mission.
Weapons: Again I liked the cleaner/easier way to chosse loadout. I also like the general upgrades. What was lacking where the modular upgrades. In ME1 guns could have several upgrade slots. While I think is great how they implemented the ammo types in ME2 I would liked to still be able to pick up things like a combat scanner, scram rail or even a granade launcher attachment for a rifle. So give the guns updrade slots and let us have some options for each upgrade slot that could be swap in and out. This way you could custumize the gun for individual party member strenghts or the given mission situation.
Resources: Make resources more usefull. In my first playthru I had almost 130k of element zero and 500k of everything else not realizing that you can get all the upgrades you need for about half that quantity. I would like to be able to use resources for more than just upgrades. I would like to be able to sell it for credits. How about using for your own colony or spaceport (if you decided to walk away from Cerebus how is the Normandy supposed to get repairs I wonder) or help in some quests etc. Also make mining simpler. I read another theard that pointed out tha yuo have a first class AI that should be able to sweep the planet for you.
Exploring: Fuel did not add anything to the gameplay. Other than making you go back to the fuel depot before you got the fuel cell upgrade it did not add anything to the game. I keep topping my tank thinking I was going to become essential at some point. So make it relevant or eliminate it (I would like to see it become relevant). As I stated above EDI could do the mineral sweeaping. I would like side mission to give you more unique or intresting items or results. I was hoping to run into an ancient protean ruins or the like that could give me like a unique rifle etc (maybee collecting parts/scan on diff planets).
Multiple Squad Mission: So far my two favorite missions in the ME franchise have been Vermire and the suicide mission. That because in both cases you where in charge of one of many squads moving thru the level. Who do you chosse for a specific part of the mission (and how you prepared them) counted and could result in a party member death. So for ME3 I would like to see more missions (both major and minor missions) where your elite crew participates. Picture a scene where Shepard said "Garus take Thane and give use sniper cover, Tali and Legion hack their systems and set off false alarms. Jack and Zaedd you are with me"
Time Critical: With the exception of saving your crew after the IFF mission. There is no time preassure to get things done. Now I assume that the ME3 story line will involve you organizing/leading as the Reapers invade. Having a limited amount of time to reach an objective forces people to make decitions. This mechanic has been done before, in the original Fallout you had 'x' number of days before your Vault runs out of water and 'y' days before the mutants find it. Star Control 2 does something similar. If you remember one of the original ME1 commercials showed Shepard ignoring a distress call to go somewhere else. I would like to make desitions like that in the game.
Space Combat: The one space fight in ME2 was scripted but overall cool. I am not sure how you can implement space combat in ME without making it cheesy but I would like to have it. The closest idea I have is to use the conversation system in some way.

Every time I upgraded a weapon, for instance, I would like to have been shown a bar stat showing how much damage I was increasing it by with my upgrade.

Back to basics the ME1 formula was the best by far
The current system, but more customisability.
AND NO SCANNING.

Armor: Agreed. Can use more N7 pieces or have the sets broken up into individual pieces that are customizeable. Either that or allow us to remove helmets during conversations when not in a hostile enviroment.-D7- wrote...
Here is what I would like to see in ME3 as far as game mechanics.

Weapons: I'm actually fine with the weapons the way they are. Some weapons I felt needed more ammo but that can be fixed by just adding in more ammo capacity upgrades.
Resources: I had no problems with that. I only wish we could've sold excess resources for money. It doesn't even have to be for much either. Just some way for resources to still go after resources after a certain point. That or allow us to build more probes with remaining resources instead of using just money to get more.
Exploring: I only wished we didn't have to buy probes or fuel really. Felt kind of pointless to me to have to worry about that. I wish scanning scanned a bigger portion of the planet so it could be done faster than it was on the bigger planets.
Multiple Squad Missions: I would actually like to see more of that as well when you have a fuller team. It would certainly make it feel like the rest of your team was doing something else instead of sitting on the Normandy twittling their thumbs. Could have easily had something like another team on Horizon fighting the Collectors as well using a ME2 mission as an example.
Time Critical: I don't know how I would feel about that. They would have to give quite a bit of time for the player to do some extra stuff or that extra stuff like missions and stuff would feel wasted.
Space Combat: No! That is not what Mass Effect is about. Sure there is space combat but we don't control it. At the most, I can just support controlling a gun turret or something and not the actual path where the ship is going during said space combat.

Good lord do not put it on a timer. I played Fallout and hated HATED the timer.
Ah, but in Fallout you could complete quests to extend the timers (there was also one that extended the water supply but shark the discovery one).
I think that a properly implemented timer would add to game not just add stress.

Items and upgrade system from ME1
have to return! more armor types and MANY more weapons with accuracy,
damage and stuff! and the characters from ME1 have to have a bigger
role! The combat system is perfect in ME2, but as you may understand I
liked the item system from ME1 better.. To be more accurate I liked ME1
better overall than ME2.
The problem with the weapons and armor of ME1 is that you had a lot of repetative or similar sets. A lot of them where not unique and maneging inventory was a pain (notice that there is no omnigel in this one). I would like more choices as long as they are different choices.
