Here in the UK GAME.co.uk has put up DA Awakening, with a price tag of £30. I just think a £30 price tag is extremely expensive for expansion pack. The actual game was only £10 more and has so much more content.

So i dare ask, is this just another EA scheme to make more money?

I don't know... if it turns out to be 40 euros, I WILL be angry. Game was 52 euros for me, aprox. 70 USD...

Yeah at current dollar to pound, it should cost £25 in UK but we get ripped off again and have to pay more.

How about the famous 1 Euro = 1 USD fact? I personally think it's sad. Not to mention Europe gets the bloody thing the 19th. Sometimes I wonder if they consider us to be richer AND more technologically downgraded. I hate that.

You know what, I am happy that all those good games that come in Europe out because the developer is European, come 2, 3 or 12 months later in NA... seriously.

That's not Bioware or EA's fault though. I remember when I used to go to London, games usually cost 39.99. Expansions cost about 29.99.
It's the pound exchange rate and inflation you should blame for this.

ya, expansions usually cost around $30, so we are paying $10 more then average, but after all these great hands-on impressions and the nice Q&A, I'm willing to pay $40 with only minor fuss.

Ea seems to be slightly raising the price with all Dragon Age products. Save the main game, everything released just feels a tad bit too expensive.

Watch the Interview on You Tube there is a thread on this board. Awakening has been in production for over a yr. & sounds like it is going to be almost, if not as big as Origins.
What do ya'll want..? them to give it away? If that is the case don't expect quality games in the future, they won't be able to fund big games w/o $ !
Alot of ppl pay more than $40.00 to pick up 2 crappy DVD's that only last 3 hours for both, pay more than $40.00 when they go out to eat for dinner, buy a carton of smokes, fill up the car, go to the bar to get hammered.
I don't know about you.. but I'd much wrather pay 40.00 for a good entertaining, interesting, kick ass game, that lasts for 80+ hours, than do any of the above boring things people do everyday.

Yeah, I'm surprised. I was originally a bit put off by the price, but this is looking like an extremely large expansion.

Then your blind. Theres a much bigger thread on this topic, the only expansion that was above $30 and not a stand-alone was the recently released Sims expansion (also by EA <_< surprise)

However the list for $30 expansions was long indeed.

Maybe I'm old, but I remember expansion packs only costing $20. The costs of games hasn't really gone up since then...

^ we are all a little older sadly...But to re-state the already mentioned, the interviews have said the expansion might be just as long as Origins.

In steam it's selling for 29€, which is the normal price for an expansion.

Does it matter where I buy it? Are there any nice promo-items i can get by buying it in different stores, like with DAO?

Otherwise I just pre-order the downloadable one on eagames (29,95 euros) The shipment costs and taxes quite startled me last time.

The PC version is £15 ($23) at play.com, £25 for Xbox 360. Certainly not expensive.
