Seeing as they did overview scripting for ME2&3 at the same time, I'd say how ME2 squad members are handled would have fairly early on the list of M2 things to tie up they covered.

(Unless they make a list of everyone who's posted more than 20 times in each of those threads and patch their accounts so she dies/leaves/something on the first couple of characters imported. The active support threads are silly.
The ones that get a bunch of posts a minute like the Tali and Miranda ones end up going off topic all the time, or are just downright creepy.

The ones that don't get any posts like the Zaeed and Jack ones stay on topic, but they never have enough posts to actually talk about the characters!

Bioware isn't going to forget about past characters in a series like mass effect, because of how important they are. But I hope that these support threads don't seriously impact the Mass Effect team's development of the next game. That's no fun...it was obvious Tali would be a squad mate or major inclusion and romance option from the beginning because of all the damn threads. I like being suprised, caught off guard, but we meet Tali so early...I just hope they don't add plot elements and characters just because people are whining for it. I'd rather have them do it their own way....it's bioware, for pete's sake.

No, of course I don't hope Bioware ignores their fans, I just hope they won't dramaticly change the storyline because of those threads. And there are other ways to expres you like a character.

The deaths were basically random and interchangeable; there wasn't a real Virmire.

It does not change or hurt the story at all, seeing as how the goal of the mission is to PREVENT it from being a suicide mission.

No. I know they know we love our characters. (Except Jacob and Kaiden who we all "meh" to death.) There's nothing more to prove imo. They know we'd want to keep the squad. Developers on average make better games than fans, so I would prefer Bioware is not overly swayed by our petitioning.


And, to be honest, I really don't get why the support threads couldn't be in the appropriate fan group's forum. It'd keep the general section more general and reduce pushdown of legitimate questions from newbies. At the moment there are 5 assorted support threads on the top page. Second page holds another 4. As we now have that sticky with links to all the fangroups, it's not like people wanting to show affection for Tali can't find 1 of the 3(or more?) groups devoted to her worship.
