I'm playing through as a man now and I think my guy and Legum would be buds. Leliana is adorable - love making her an assassin! But, Morrigan has decided to keep Daemon for herself. My characters have minds of their own!

Ah, I suppose you're one of my silent followers? xD I've never made Leliana an assassin myself. If I give her a second specialization, it's usually duelist for the times she's not using her bow.
My Dalish ranger went for Morrigan. Didn't end up well, but it was quite the ride. Legam's simply my favorite Warden out of the ones I've played. What can I say? It's fun playing a softie.

You mean if your male Cousland marries Anora? I think you can keep him, you just have to make sure he's the one who kills Loghain - Anora won't marry her father's killer.
XD Those shoes are ridiculous. Oh Leliana and her strange tastes...

then a song with actors shot on location looking more like a real movie.
Shooting schedule and sneak peeks will be shown on my site: www.insomn1ac.com

Do you sing/compose music professionally by any chance?

but, I never thought of myself as a "real" musician. I made a living as a writer and photographer.
I finally have the music software and recording setup to get some nice sounds!
thanks so much for the compliment. I might actually build up some confidence from everybody's kind words. *blush*
if you know anyone who's looking for a singer/songwriter or composer, let me know.

Beautiful voice, awesome video, and more awesome subject matter! I especially like the part that says 'Alistair, is the game playing you?' I think that really fits sometimes.

Does he have to marry Anora? Is it possible for him to marry your character?
Oh, the original thing I wanted to say before I read your reply; besides your song, there is one more that makes me think of Alistair when I hear it......Halo by Beyonce

all epilogues say Alistair is a very good King. (harden his personality for him to be the best king) no strife among nobles. that's why Alistair is king. he is the only true blood of Maric. he is so merciful that he allows Anora to live while many would have had her execued as she would do to him.
Alistair does not need to die. If he is a traitor by leaving the party, then how much more so is Logain who has attacked his own people, abused his daugher, killed his King and sun-in-law, murdered his fellow Teryn Cousland and tried to poison a neutral Arl (Eamon) just to take power? Even Logain's daughter Anora is horrified. And, ultimately his captain who adored him, surrenders to the Warden (if you use coercion) to let your party into the Landsmeet. I believe B'ware just added A's desertion as a illogical dramatic twist. I'm a writer by profession, so I know a plot trick when I see it. A would feel betrayed but I can't imagine him leaving the party, or even if he did, he'd keep fighting the blight.
You can make him king, though, and keep Logain in your party, allowing L to sacrifice himself which can make for a satisfying ending. though not for me.)
I never married Alistair to Anora. he can rule alone or with you!
You can be happy with A. I was an elf mage who became his chancellor and lover (Anora in the tower.)
I married Alistair as a HFN which was very satisfying.
In my own epilogues we had children and rebuilt the Grey Wardens and cleaned up Denerim, giving Elves equal rights.
AS a HMN I am Ali's best bud and Morrigan's lover. (she giggles a lot) I will become king and have an heir with Anora. Alistair and I will travel to Orlais and Weisshaupt. (my story goes beyond the epiloge.) LOL.
In this last playthrough I am an Alienage Elf and Alistair is "courting" me as he calls it. It' s so much more charming and heartwarming to let A take the lead in the love affair. Don't ever invite him to your tent first. Wait for it. We will rebuild the Wardens together this time through and avoid the King thing. kill Logain, let his daughter rule.
In no scenario do I allow Hitler....uh....I mean Logain....to live. There is no redemption for what he has become. Alistair may be flawed but he is not a beast nor a traitor. There is not comparison between the two men. And, I didn't like A to begin with, but B'ware allows their characters to grow through the game, and change, and Ali became a strong, good man. Logain fell from grace into insanity.
In the scene where Duncan looks up at the tower light, I do not believe he would pardon Logain. Duncan was no fool.
As soon as Alistair told my MC he was the son of Maric, I knew B'ware intended him to be king. And, by the clips of Awakening it looks like that's true. They spend more time on him than any other character. More care goes into Alistair than even the Main Character! David Gaider saw my video and said the team at Bioware is watching it. They love Alistair too! *big grin*
So, please share these thoughts with your husband. Punishing a good man for a broken spirit is not the same as dealing justice to one who has - for some reason unexplained - gone over the edge into madness and genecide. *coughhitlercough* (historical sidebar: Hitler was a good administrator at first. Not a madman, but like Logain, he became deranged and felt mass murder was justified.)
sorry for such a long post, but I thought your message worthy of serious discussion. thanks so much for responding.
and I love B's halo song. I see what you mean, too.

And then, how do you harden a character?
BTW, I was going to make Alistair make the first move, but I got too impatient and I thought he never would, so I did.

if you are a man or don't plan on making him king, no hardening needed. it doesn't change his cuteness or slow down the one liners.
and, yes, after he meets his sister be sure to tell him life is hard as McKitten says. and don't back down from that when in camp.
if you play through again, be sure to wait for him to ask you to make love. nice scene before the deed and lovely scene afterwards.
I just discovered a sweet conversation where he says he was brought up to be a gentleman and wouldn't I like to be courted by a gentleman? awwwwwwwwww.........

SRWill hitler lover her (husband) here. In the beginning scenes of the human noble when you're in the pantry with Duncan, if you say you want revenge on Howe Duncan replies 'The Wardens duty is to end the Blight, even above vengeance.' So how do you justify Alistair's wish for vengeance above the Blight? Alistair says 'Wardens take help anywhere they can find it.' (when they were at Flemmeth's house). So an apostate is acceptable? A blood mage is acceptable (in Warden's Keep)? An assassin is OK? But not a man who believes he is doing what is best for Ferelden? Let's kill the bastard! Or let's run off and be a drunk. Really makes a lot of sense. According to Alistair in that last scene, make up your mind....do you take help from wherever it comes from or not? If Alistair would have complained, ****ed and moaned, I would have understood. I don't like Loghain, either, nor do I deny he's a traitorous bastard, but the Blight is my concern, not Alistair's childish reaction. My thoughts were to put a daiper on the boy and give him a rattle.
And though this is not the place to discuss this... though you are certainly right regarding Alistair being "selfish" in that, can you really blame the man for taking it personally when all fereldian wardens were wiped out due to Loghain? The harm done to the order was immense; it did not just hit him personally but also endangered all of Ferelden.

and that's a lot more important than the fate of a C++ pixelated character. LOL.
keep in mind, though, that Alistair is only leaving the party. a group of volunteers. he will fight - maybe with the dwarves or elves, and maybe after the big battle he'll leave Ferelden to go to Weisshaupt or Orlais, to bury the hurt of losing his father, his brother, his mentor and a one-time friend.
If Logain made the difference between victory and losing to the Archdemon, then we should all choose him. But, nope. I can beat him solo as a thief or mage no problem. (and I play on "HARD") Why would I sacrifice my best fighter for him?
no one knows who the "drunk" is, but it's not a Grey Warden. There is no "used to be" for them. there is only duty and the deep roads.
ah, poor Ali. he bent to your will until he couldn't bend anymore. he has a will of his own!
"Shall you repent of sins unspent for no more nightmares in the dark."
"Alistair, I believe in you."
I just love that guy. more than ever.
