is there a way to find out the numerical code for your character after you leave the creator?

Yes, you can find the code with the save editor. Get it here: www.masseffect2faces.com/index.php

On Xbox, you should see it above the character's name in the level up screen. Kinda small and unobtrusive, so easy to miss.
