Don't get me wrong. I like Tali. A lot. But I can't bring myself to romance her. The power differential between her and Shepard is just to great. He's a decade older than her, she's barely out of her teens, and it's pretty obvious she's nursing a huge crush. This is not a relationship of equals. Shepard could take advantage of her in dozens of small ways. I'm curious to know if the romance deals with these issues at all, or if this is one subplot I should avoid for the sake of my blood pressure.

I had the same issue with the ME romances. My Paragons usually go through the first game single.

I can see what you mean. But, it seems that inter-species relationships are a common place in the mass effect universe. Also don't quarians have a longer life than humans, so wouldn't that even it out?



Besides, if your a paragon shepard you do not need to worry about shepard taking advantage of her. =D

I had the same issue with the ME romances. My Paragons usually go through the first game single.

I know exactly what you mean. This is why I chose Miranda, and also didn't romance anyone in the first game.

Tali is twenty-four in Mass Effect 2.

Shepard is...29 in ME, right? So 31 in ME2.

24 and 31. That seriously isn't that bad. My father is ten years older than my mother. my mother is over 15 years older than her boyfriend.

Tali is 24, Shepard is about 29-31 depending on whether you count the 2 years he spends on an operating table, so it's not that huge of an age difference. I'm fairly sure some of the other romances have a larger age-gap than that.

She was considered an adolescent by quarian standards in ME 1. I guess she's two years past adolescence.
