Keep in mind Tali has killed multiple people

So I'm sure handling the affections of a slightly older man won't be that traumatizing

He is not a decade older. He is 29 (would be 31 but he was dead for the past two) and she is 24. Quarians age similarly to humans. NOT WEIRD AT ALL.

Ah hell since no-one has said it before I'll say it now. She or they are all in enviromental suits correct? Well she could have a "vestigial" third leg and well the thought of that just gives my shep the creeps!

This makes no sense.

Makes perfect sense Mr. badrobot. Think about it, hardly any Asari remember what they look like under them suits. They just might just have an extra appendage tucked in there some where. No-one knowing the Quarian anatomy or the lack of ability to gather medical records on them scares my shep.

You hear a Turian hitting on a Quarian in the Illium bar, and as we know from the FemShep/Garrus romance, those two species are able to get it done.
If A goes with B, and B goes with C, we can assume A and C are reasonably similar.
So tell your Shep to quit worrying and git in thar!

Edited, so as to be less of a jerk.

Actually most of the galaxy would probably have a fair idea what quarians look like, theres this little thing called the Extranet thats been around for thousands of years and don't forget the quarian spreads in Fornax.

Tali only stumbles around Shep, in most other situations she is typically very confident.

Might I suggest that your Shep is a xenophobic moron?

NO one else wheres the damn suits for there whole life who the *uck knows what is under their suits. And darky I'll counter your "Xenophobic idiot" remark with an "I'll be careful and not a dumb ass" remark.
remember someone brought aboard the SR-2 some varren scabes? Best not to put anything where it could get chopped off!

No, not really.  The pilgrimage is more like your first "official" adult act.  I.e., you have to have reached adulthood to even be sent on one, normally.

Tali's name in the first game is Tali'Zorah Nar Rayya. "Nar" means "child of". I always figured that the Pilgrimage is basically your right of passage into adulthood. After the completion of the pilgrimage they are then considered adults.

But whatever floats your boat, I guess.

I don't what floating my boat has to do with anything.  Tali tells you this in ME1 (emphasis mine): "When my people reach maturity, we leave our birth ships and seek acceptance with a new crew."  Also, do any of the Quarians you meet on pilgrimage strike you as "just kids"?  Veetor is kinda childlike, in some respects, but that has more to do with his psychological issues than anything. And as far as the name thing?  Well, actually her full name post-pilgrimage was Tali'Zorah Vas Neema Nar Rayya.  "Nar"'s functional meaning is more like "born on" or "from the".  Just because it literally translates as "child of" doesn't have any bearing on the age of the person, nor does it stop being part of their name.

The Pilgrimage is a cultural thing, not a biological thing. Therefore it doesn't have to relate to physical maturity. Many quarians' Pilgrimages last for years... what if a Pilgrimage lasted a decade? By your logic the quarian would still be a child, even if they were 35.

I think most of the Quarians that come out of the Floatilla judging by what we've seen are naive and are not ready for the dangers that are out there. Even in ME1 Tali seemed to be on the ball likely because of her father expecting the best out of her.

Running a shop, by himself, in one of he most dangerous places in the galaxy is "childlike"?  How so?  'Cause some Elcor was strongarming him into non-competition?  And, his dialogue wasn't particularly "non-adult" either.

I think it's awkward in a kind of sweet way, but I didn't find anything about it to be creepy. To me it's probably the closest thing to a relationship based on an emotional connection of any of the romances from either game.

Don't get me wrong. I like Tali. A lot. But I can't bring myself to romance her. The power differential between her and Shepard is just to great. He's a decade older than her, she's barely out of her teens, and it's pretty obvious she's nursing a huge crush. This is not a relationship of equals. Shepard could take advantage of her in dozens of small ways. I'm curious to know if the romance deals with these issues at all, or if this is one subplot I should avoid for the sake of my blood pressure.

I had the same issue with the ME romances. My Paragons usually go through the first game single.

Well keep in mind that the vast majority of ME2 players don't care about this issue.  :D Not creepy at all since almost every species (besides salarians) live longer than humans so. . . . yeah. . . . Don't care

Edit: Besides it's not any wierder than dating the Cerberus's pet or the psycho at the bottom of the ship :P

Exactly. A good example of this is Kenn on Omega. Stuck there years running his own business (poorly) because he can't afford to continue on his Pilgrimage.

Works in the other direction too. Tali's father was sent out on his Pilgrimage when he was still a teenager. Its a rite of passage, but there is alot of leeway in when you choose to take it and how long it takes you to finish. Nothing at all to do with biology.

As are plenty of fully adult humans in the real world.

Exactly.  Yes, it is a rite of passage. However, it's not a rite of passage into adulthood, but into "crewhood".  Being "adult" isn't what the Quarians care about: it's about proving you'll be useful to your ship and the fleet, and has the additional purpose of moving those of the age to start a family around the fleet in order to maintain genetic diversity.

Erm, not quite:  Rael'Zorah and Han'Gerrel were exceptions.  Han tells you they were sent earlier than is normal.  Which makes them useful here, as they're ones that prove the rule: those still considered teenagers aren't supposed to be put on Pilgramage.

He was a pretty naive little fella. And Elcor have no arms with which to strongarm. He should've taken a stand.

Don't forget the Elcor bouncer. They can apparently throw down.

I'm calling it: Krogan vs Elcor for Mass Effect 3.

Their inability to strongarm is outweighed by their ability to strongleg. 4 times.

Living in an insular society with limited contact with the outside world and you expect him NOT to be naive?

Crazy the expectations of people....

How do you even know that that's meant to be Tali? I've seen people link it in a few Tali threads, and everyone seems to assume it's a tali sex doll made by some crazed fan. Firstly, its resemblance to Tali is spurious, and secondly it could just be a construct made for the rule of funny.
