And Elcor have no arms with which to strongarm.

Well, they kinda do: they're really knuckle-walkers rather than full-on quadrapeds. More on the quadraped side of the line than, say, gorillas are, but still perfectly capable of grabbing and hitting stuff should the mood take them. They just keep their hand-equivalents curled up most of the time.   I mean, how else do you think they get anything done?  Hard to achieve spaceflight without the ability to use tools.  And, they're heavy-grav worlders.  That's a lot of surplus strength when you're on a  more or less normal grav (i.e., very low-grav to an Elcor) station like Omega.  If anything, that Elcor caved way too easily when puny human Shep started tossing threats to break legs around.

Er, can't bring myself to find the Tali romance creepy.  Actually, Tali's cute awkwardness and generally sweet nature strongly remind me of my girlfriend - who is 30, and has substantially more relationship experience than I do.  Some people simply have a youthful personality.

This is actually much more disturbing from the shrunken view -- looks more, uh, "realistic".

As others have said, there's a pretty major difference between being emotionally and physically mature and having a society acknowledge it.

Even if Quarians are not considered legally adults in their culture till they get back from their Pilgramage, they /are/ adults at that point. Well, unless it's like Tali's father, who did it really early. She was 22 in ME1 and is 24 now. I really can't see her being a not adult.

Then again, I find this talk about how ten years is a really long time kind of odd. That's nothing. I've known people who dated folks 15, 20 years older than they are. Once you hit adulthood, things really do change.

In ME1 Tali was a 22 year old woman and nothing gave the impression that she was naive and incapable of making adult decisions for herself. Good god; Bioware puts a romance in the game with a character who's sweet and cute, and thereby, the romance itself is also sweet and cute and there's a discussion about whether or not Shepard took advantage of her? Do you really think that's the feeling Bioware was going for?

If Tali's sex scene had been like Miranda's, people would've been screaming how out of character it is for her. So instead they give us a scene that is fully within her character (and that of a virgin who has never trusted anyone enough to be intimate with them) and people complain. <_<

Don't get me wrong. I like Tali. A lot. But I can't bring myself to romance her. The power differential between her and Shepard is just to great. He's a decade older than her, she's barely out of her teens, and it's pretty obvious she's nursing a huge crush. This is not a relationship of equals. Shepard could take advantage of her in dozens of small ways. I'm curious to know if the romance deals with these issues at all, or if this is one subplot I should avoid for the sake of my blood pressure.

I had the same issue with the ME romances. My Paragons usually go through the first game single.

I am 24 and feel very much grown up also equal to any 30 year old guy. I don't know from where did you get the idea that 24 is close to teens...

The one on Omega runnung the store is pretty childlike.

Running a shop, by himself, in one of he most dangerous places in the galaxy is "childlike"?  How so?  'Cause some Elcor was strongarming him into non-competition?  And, his dialogue wasn't particularly "non-adult" either.

He was a pretty naive little fella. And Elcor have no arms with which to strongarm. He should've taken a stand.

Their inability to strongarm is outweighed by their ability to strongleg. 4 times.

Elcor are high-gravity adapted.  They would probably f-up a human, let alone a quarian.

I always creeped myself out on the Tali romance not so much because she's young, but because of the whole "I could get sick and die" thing. I know she's asking for it, but jeez I got the impression that I was pressuring her. Then she mounted my Shep like a jockey and I felt a little better. Then I got dissapointed because I didn't get to see any quarian boobies.

I've never had the desire to romance Tali, and find the dynamic very unappealing, indeed, from many different angles, including the age, power, interest, xeno-compatibility etc. But to each their own.

Quick clarification. It's not about age, it's about power. I have majorr issues with romanticized relationships between superior and subordinates/ Shepard is her captain, a position of enormous authority and respect in Quarian culture. She has had a crush on him for two years. It's not an equal relationship. There's a reason most workplace regs forbid dating an employee you have direct authority over.

Sorry, jtav. You're reaching. I don't think the parallel to the workplace is a good one -- it's not like she's in the military or he's paying her. She came onto the ship as a favor to him. The power dynamic just isn't there. He's in charge on missions, certainly. But there isn't the same sort of dynamic off-mission. She can leave at any time she wants and isn't dependent on him for money or such. She has prestige elsewhere, so there's no issue there.

I also don't see how the length of the crush has any relation to things.

Then you never dated Kaidan or Ashley? Because they really were directly his Subordinates. Tali wasn't really.

Soooo  all of the romances are creepy, because Shep is a commander Shep. When I think of this, maybe that's a case. I mean in Jacobs case it's a sexual harassment, given Shepards lines.

Yeah 24 and 31 isn't that bad.
Then again I don't know if Shepard is really 31, I mean your body is rebuilt
to be that of a 29 year old and you didn't mature any in the past 2 years because
you were unconscious... So 29-31 with a 24 year old isn't bad.

He's 31 get over it.
Also ug .. Tali she's 24 .. Nothing wrong with dating a 31 years old.
Also normaly girl tend to pick older guy.Because they're sexier and less dumb.
YEAH!

Now a 24 years old woman dating a 17 years old highschool boy would be creepy.

If you considered Tali a subordinate, then the same would be true of every other romantic option in ME2. They're all taking your orders.
