you don't believe me then replay those missions. He also has daddy
issues and when you talk to TIM and come out of the holo-conference he
is standing there and asks if we are really going to go after the
collectors and the expression on his face is what I can only read as
terror. Not to mention he can't please Miranda... seriously what kind
of man is he?
And to be fair, "Suicide Bombers" volunteer for suicide missions all the time and are the biggest cowards in ANY universe.
Huh? If I recall correctly, he compliments Tali and Samara after you recruit them. Also, I don't think he's in the briefing room after you recruit Jack (it's only Shepard, Jack, and Miranda). I don't remember him saying anything about Grunt, although Miranda, Kelly, Kenneth, and Gabby all seem troubled by Grunt's prescence (and understandably so). The only recruitment he voices concerns about is Thane, and Shepard can either support his concerns or dismiss them. I'll check again on the next playthrough, but I'm pretty sure Thane is the only one he distrusts/antagonizes.
I didn't interpret his loyalty arc as 'daddy issues', especially when compared to Miranda's arc or Liara's trouble with Benezia from ME1. He also didn't seek out the intel on the Gurnsback distress call (Miranda did) and had long since parted ways with his dad.
Yeah, he did seem worried about going through the Omega 4 relay, but considering that he's just a soldier I can't blame him. He's not genetically engineered to be perfect, raised and tortured to become a super-biotic, a 1000 year old space paladin, a Krogan, an unkillable merc, or like any of the other super beings on the team. Ashley was in a similar situation during ME1 and mentioned how she felt unneeded in the battle against Sovereign.
As for not being able to please Miranda, meh. You seem to assume that this means he's lousy in bed. Maybe. I don't really care. After going through Miranda's romance I get the feeling that she requires a exceptional individual, like Shepard. I think Jacob's statement had less to do with sex and more to do with accomplishments.
