XxTaLoNxX - The choice to use Grunt or Jacob seems to be linked to whether your Shepard focuses on Biotics or not. Adepts/Sentinels highly benefit more from a usage of Pull than C-Shot. It distracts and sets up for Biotic combos. Now I will agree, Jack fills that roll better than Jacob because Squad Warp Ammo is just nutz... but if you find that Jack is dying more often than you'd like then Jacob fills in with Pull/Squad Incendiary Ammo/Barrier.
Also Mordin is not useless either. Incinerate absolutely wrecks armor and Cryo Freeze was the underdog ability that many undervalued until others like AverageGatsby demonstrated it's ability to adequately CC. Mordin shines in any mission involving Collectors or lots of Organics.
IMO, the character who is the most underwhelming to me is Samara. Yes, Reave is amazing... not disputing that... but I don't find much use for her prior to attaining Reave. Pull AND Throw --- BioWare, Seriously? They tried to sugar her up with AR training but I don't know. Really, all she is good for is setting up Biotic Combos and giving your character Reave.

Yes, Samara is another weak early game character. I don't agree with mordin, though. He's pretty weak late game. Not sure what you mean by crowd control with it. Takes like 2-3 seconds for the g-damn freeze to even work. You have a link to this gatsby video? I have serious doubts about this one.

@vhatever; I thought we had moved past this point. Why do you insist on being racially insulting? I disagree that Jacob is better in any early group once you get Garrus. Past the first 3 missions there is no use for him.
And yes... I do want him pumped up because of his skin color. Why should the token black guy be nearly useless? Why is his only "Personal Upgrade" a ship upgrade when they could have just as easily made the armor upgrade come from Joker?
And why shouldn't the black character be just as great as the alien characters or the white human characters? Because racists like you just think of him as the token black guy? I find that highly offensive.
As for your last comment, what about all those "magic white movies" (I refuse to reduce myself to saying racist temrs like "******") that Hollywood likes to vomit out? Oh? I just want to point out something that you said, "the choice between Jacob and Grunt" the issue I have is that it isn't primarily that the choice is "between" those two it's, "why choose Jacob at all." To elaborate on my experience Grunt is a better tank, so if you are using Jacob for that then you are making the choice to use a character that is weaker at that "skill" than another character with better loadouts (Rifles+Shotties) not to mention an inherent ability to melee very effectively (Krogan Charge). If you are using him to "setup" biotic combos then you are again choosing to use a weaker character verses a character that excels in that field (Jack) who also has a similar weapon loadout. If you are using him for his Ammo ability well Jack does that better as well.

Almost no one used Ashley or Kaiden in the first one. No white people were throwing hissy fits last I recall. Justify myself? You were the one who jumped into the thread claiming things like "bravery" being a black trait and whatever else you were rambling on about. Biased? Bigoted? Well those insults would be true if I was actually mad that the aliens and white characters are useful... but I'm NOT. I'm mad that the one black guy that is part of the gameplay is worthless in every sense of the word. He is worthless in combat and worthless as a character, that's what is making me have an issue. Hollywood has nothing to do with it. Also black people are brave, proud, energetic, and outspoken. I can say the same about the majority of anybody else. The problem I have is that for a "soldier hero" Jacob is lacking ALL of those traits.
As for me getting my racial pride from Hollywood that is preposterous, and may I ask you when was the last time you tuned into The Discovery Channel and saw anybody but a black African hunt lions with a spear? Hollywood didn't do that to the Africans... no they are brave because it is how they are raised, most black people in the U.S are raised to be strong in substandard areas of the country.

What gets me is that it looks like he rolls his eyes every time he salutes you...In fact he rolls his eyes at me a lot! Perfect candidate to be thrown out the trash compactor. I would like to see that modded in as a renegade option for all team mates who get on my nerves, cause Jack would follow Jacob very quickly. Then Miranda and Tali. Hell I would throw them all out the trash compactor airlock if I had the option. I wouldn't do it to Grunt, instead I would put him in the ship's giant micro-wave oven (sic) FTL drive and watch him explode. Now that would be funny.
